Alternatively there was a couple of restaurants and a great supermarket within 3-5mins walk from the ryokan. The - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this ryokan. The owners are friendly and accommodating, and it really helped to have the maps listing favorite places to eat and things to do. The location is good if you want to see the castle, and take in an onsen at Asama. The Inn was very clean, and our room was very comfortable. Our 8 year old loved sleeping on the futon in our traditional room, and the ofuro was a great cultural experience. Don't miss the delicious breakfast for a true taste of Japan
