  It was in a very nice area of San Marco, right by all the high-end shopping and 2 minute walk to the square. It also was one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in. - Great location. Room was fantastic, smart decor, lovely and clean, bathroom fantastic!! Pleasantly surprised!!

  The location is perfect. The staff, especially main guy (goatee guy), were v. helpful and friendly. They arranged our gondola ride and answered our questions fully.   Generator was a great place to stay in Venice. Even though it is on Giudecca, there is a vaporetto stop near the hostel and getting to St. Mark's Square is quick and easy. Staff were generally helpful and made a special effort to help us locate a lost piece of luggage at the airport. Certainly better than your average budget hostel. - They helped me to charge my phone when my cable got broken. Very comfortable beds with lights that don't disturb others. It is on a separate island from the city center, but public transport is working all the night so it's not a problem.
