Location, location, location! Minutes away by walking from Gateway and India, Colaba market, and several restaurants and bars in Between the Back of the Taj and the !arket. Clean and Comfortable room, bathroom smallish but adequate bath room. Room service fast, cheap and good, a/c good, two large windows opened (nice to do once in while, great reception on tv with multilevel English Language channels-- comedies from U.S. and Austrain drama series in the mix. Nice, polite, cheerful, helpful staf.

Literally two minutes stroll to 'Gateway of India', Taj Palace. It's a nice area. great location in the Colaba area. Very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast buffet. It was central very comfortable and staff were very courteous. Well located Clean Friendly Safe haven from the city outside. Location is excellent everything in south Mumbai is nearby. Really in the downtown, best location to visit the city. location! cleanness, nice rooms. Excellent location. location. The location was terrific for visiting the most popular tourist sights. There were lots of restaurant choices near by offering not only Indian meals but other nationalities. The breakfast was fresh and varied. All in all pretty good value for Mumbai. Location only. The hotel is situated in a very convenient area if only it could be cleaner. You need to ask for boiler to be switched on before you use hot shower (for first time). The only thing missing was a bar. It took time to get the two reception staff to smile, an important thing to do to newcomers! The cockroach in my room.......The beggars on the doorstep, we are not used to coping with that dilemma. What is it best to do, give or not give?. Their resturant space is very limited while i eat every one is waching & you can hear talk of all body there. No licenced bar. The reception staff were dismissive and extremely unhelpful. The rooms rather small with no space for one suitcase never mind two. As was common in most of our other Indian accommodation the whole place could do with a thorough clean: light switches, under beds and in the corners etc. Staff at front reception rude..checked out next day. Hot showers were impossible. Receptionist were Avery unfriendly and don't care attitude. I stayed 4 days and all four days the vacuum cleaner was left in the passage unused and un moved very disappointing. The rooms was dirty the sevice very bad most of the staff was rude unhelpful no tissue in the rooms a lot of services was missing.
