It was slightly out of the city, but easily accessible with rickshaw. Not really a problem!
A staff at reception was willing to lend my friend a powerplug adaptor for one full night and return it the next day. Such flexibility and willingness to serve is much appreciated.
A staff knocked on the door to serve a jug of water past 11pm - I was already in bed. While it was a nice gesture, it was inconvenient for me to get out of bed to answer the door.
Great decor, entertainment in the evening (dancing & music) very nice balcony good space in the suites. It felt like Rajasthan!

Very clean hotel and staffs were cordial, hotel permitted us early check-in approx.4hrs before. Location is very good and its value for money. Structure of the hotel was quite ethnic.

Loved the architecture and heritage style rooms. Sunset from the roof terrace was so beautiful. The staff were very friendly, efficient & helpful, and arranged transport from rail station [for free] and to airport [at very reasonable rate]. The swimming pool was beautiful. I would stay there again and would recommend to anyone visiting Jaipur.
About the only thing that was not perfect was the hot water! It took a long time for the hot water to flow in shower [much quicker in hand basin].

The Umaid Bhawan is a beautiful hotel with amazing decor and was a joy to stay at. the bedroom was gorgeously decorated and the staff were polite and efficient. The rooftop restauraunt provided lovely food in a relaxing surroundings and our stay was perfect in every way. We had a package which included a driver for the day and he was verey useful in describing the location and providing transport to some of the more remote sights. I would highly recommend the hotel for anyone visiting Jaipur.

When we check out , front desk man called for the taxi and wanted 400rupee for 1km distance from hotel do train station. We argue with him that we paid 50rupee for that distance when we come to hotel. He just wanted cheat us. That wasn't good expierence in that hotel. Rest of our stay was very nice!
This hotel was of very good quality, highly attractive with its' haveli type appearance and architecture, in a reasonably quiet location of the city, beautifully decorated and furnished throughout, with very high level of service, good food and a lovely roof top restaurant, and a dining/breakfast room on the same level. The inclusive breakfast was by far the best quality we found anywhere, and was presented with excellent service. Hot water which seems to be problem with many hotels was not here, with each room having its' own boiler; very hot water was available immediately at anytime of the day or night! We would recommend this hotel to all similarly appreciative couples, especially of our age.

The location was a good 15 minutes from central Jaipur if the roads weren't too busy.

hotel was next to other residential buildings whereas the impression created was that this was a heritage hotel. Rooms were much smaller than what appeared on the internet photographs. Pool was very small.
