The staff was very friendly and very helpful with directions. Location was excellent: 3 closeby train stations and very central, beside Alster lake, closeby touristy spots. The rooms were new, very comfy beds (difficult to leave the room!) Price was reasonable for the convenience. I also liked the Barcelo hotel big sign that helped us find the hotel when we were lost walking in the streets.

Seuss penthouse suite which was superb and excellent value. Can't really fault the hotel except the design of the ground floor areas is rather bland and uninteresting. I liked the location. It is in the centre of Hamburg near shops, cafes, walking area around lake. This hotel is new which makes it comfortable to stay. The breakfast was tasty and there is plenty of space for everyone in the restaurant. Good service, nice staff, really clean and a really excellent location (5 minutes from the main station and 5 minutes to the city and the Alster). No problem to leave your luggage after check out while exploring the city a bit more. Location was excellent, with walking distance to the old city center, and to the railroad station. Quiet non-trafficked road. And the room was large, very comfortable and nice, bed fantastic and a selection of 4 different pillows!. Staff very friendly, and went to a lot of effort to help print out our boarding passes for our flight the next day. Also allowed us to check in to our room early, and gave us a room as requested with a lovely view on a high floor. We were there just to enjoy Hamburg and our Hotel was great. The location very close to the Station, Shopping, The Lake and the ease of walking everywhere. The staff at the Hotel were very courteous and the meals were excellent. Great service. Good information of the area. The front desk had great recommendations on local museums and restaurants. The train station is only a 5 minute walk and has many great small restaurants to eat and drink. Convenient location, friendly staff, good-sized room, and beefed up room with comfortable bed and pillows. 5-10 min walk from public transport and really everything else downtown. De kamers zijn erg modern, maar toch nog romantisch. Geen fel licht. Praktisch ingericht. Sauna is aanwezig. Parkeergarage onder het hotel. Op loopafstand van de winkels. A in hotel spa with massage services would make it perfect!. See above. This hotel is located near the central railway station. There were homeless people sleeping near the hotel. Strange noises at night - like something was being build inside the hotel. And the transparent bathroom! May be it's me, but a person needs to have some privacy while taking a shower or brushing teeth. This see-through bathroom without doors makes it impossible to stay in one room with friends or relatives. No door in the shower so it was pretty cold. Service include shampoo, showergel and some stuff for cleaning shoes and a sewing kit. But even in a 2 star hotel we got some slippers, a toothbrush and a hairbrush, really missed that here. The minibar and the breakfast is way to expensive (3€ for 0.3l water..). WiFi. Seriously, it shouldn't be necessary to have the reception restart your connection at least once a day. And, the room we had was for couples. There is absolutly no privacy in the "bathroom", the shower is just a frosted glass wall from the bed, and the toilet is - well, lets say "hear through". Breakfast very expensive, although that seems to be the norm for all German hotels. Very slow free WIFI, not really up to what you would expect today. The bathroom sink was almost fully blocked, in my opinion something that the housekeeping should keep an eye on. Not much to dislike about it except perhaps no breakfast included in room tariff. expensive breakfast and parking. The garage is too difficult to use. The automatic parking facility made me confused. If I had to pick something then I would say the bar area - there wasn't one. Also, a table in the room would have been nice. It would have been nice to have a music channel available on the TV. Nothing!. a few detailed things but not that important. Missing privacy in shower room if you are travel with family/normal friend. They charge 22euros for breakfast per person. Did not have breakfast in the hotel. Bit pricey - especially breakfast. Breakfast too expensive at 22e. The breakfast was too expensive, 20 Euro per pax. You can have a beautiful breakfast in the city for much cheaper. Shower, room service, only one restaurant, condition system is very strange. no bath robes in rooms. - reception staff tried to cheat with the room (firstly we were given standard room instead of deluxe that has been paid) - poor Internet - beds are disaster (both separate and king size) - cleaning staff is very awkward (dropped and spoil my cosmetics while cleaning) - once we were attended by staff early in the morning without knocking the door. Bar. I ordered a Bellini. It was served with some peach water ( the like you get in starbucks) instead of peach puree. Tasted awful. No big deal though. Beer was tasty. Uncomfortable lounge chair in room Corridor lighting came on slowly. no bath tub. No bad words at all. ----. A little too small gym with only codidtion machines. I would like to pay less, who does not like that.!!!!!!. Nil. the location didn't fit for where I wanted to be but is probably good for business travelers. not enough space for large cases - we had been travelling a while - no space to put cases except the floor in hallway between bathroom and bedroom. A pool would have been great.
