  We loved the Pousada do Vale, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic (fish night is a real treat) and although the bed was uncomfortable the rooms were nicely decorated and very clean! Their gardens are beautiful but beware the mozzies!   I stood there participating in an Convention in the very near Exhibition Center. Being picked up at the Airport, I had immediately a guided tour by the very friendly Taxi driver - great. Once arrived at the Hotel, I had a very warm welcome. My spacious room had a balcony, a fantastic hammock and was located in a very quiet angle of the Hotel. Our room was unusual with a clever use of space and French doors that led to an outside patio and stairs to a small balcony overlooking the wall. Good location within walking distance of many nice restaurants and artisan shops. Nice swimming pool and grounds. An oasis in the middle of Olinda/Recife. As a bonus, on Sunday nights there is an open air "market" with many interesting food choices and the usual tourist fare.
