One of the best small hotels we have stayed in. The owners are exceptional in the way they make guests welcome and the standard of service they provide throughout your stay. Breakfasts are of a vey high standard with cooked options included. Our room was excellent - vey clean, comfortable and very well maintained. Recommendations for meals were helpful and accurate. Highly recommend this hotel.
所有评语 » The hotel was clean and comfortable and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them, including arranging a battlefield tour for us. We had a substancial breakfast each morning which set us up for the day. The hotel was just a ten minute walk from the station and about the same to the city centre. Hoping to pay another visit in September. The whole ambience of the Hortensia was welcoming and caring.We were greeted on arrival with a cup of tea/coffee and cake.Our room was on the first floor, spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was generous with a choice of cereals, fruit. A cooked breakfast was served and toast tea and coffee were freely available. The host was very friendly and our room efficient. 10 min walk to town centre. Would recommend ..breakfast excellent. This is for types of people..but is on the Main Street and must park car on a side street to avoid a parking ticket...parking is for 4 hours...no trouble to find a spot. The room was basic but very clean and comfortable. The proprietor spoke very good English and couldn't have been nicer. She was very friendly and helpful, for example lending us guide books, recommending restaurants, etc. She was very knowledgeable about the area and happy to help. We were give a very warm welcome and a lovely clean room and was very comfortable. The room was heated and was needed as it was very cold weather. This made it lovely for us. Breakfast and service was first class. Would stay here again and recommend it to any one. Everything! The owners are very hospitable and couldn't do enough for all the guests staying there. Breakfast had a really good selection for all tastes and they just leave you to it! Highly recommend everyone to stay here when they are visiting Ieper/Ypres :). This was just the perfect accommodation choice. Veronique was a wonderful hostess from check in to check out. She provided coffee and a pastry on arrival, a magnificent breakfast. Don't gamble on another place you may be unsure about, take my word, stay here!. Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Food good. Very hospitable. Veronique was very helpful and able to suggest things to suit our needs. Location was excellent, only a 10 minutes stroll to the Menin Gate via the Ramparts or via the cobbled road. The owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. We were given ideas of where to go, where to eat and how to get there. Veronique even loaned me her hairdryer when I forgot to take my own! Many Thanks!. the staff were great and welcoming.nice touches to arrival with tea and cakes.breakfast was wonderful.beds were comfortable.rooms were clean tidy and comfortable.hairdryer and ree good connection to wifi. Great value for money and very friendly owners, 4 of us went of motorbikes and they garaged these for us and even made pack lunches for our days out. Very clean and a real home from home. If our experience was anything to go by, if you didn't enjoy your stay, then you're the sort of person who's impossible to please. The stairs were steep and required careful negotiation. A few years ago I would not have thought to mention this. There was a certain amount of traffic noise from the street below which for really light sleepers might have been a problem. It was on a busy, cobbled street which was quite noisy. The double glazing did a very good job of reducing the noise but as it was quite warm while we were there we had to have the windows open. Parking was also an issue. Nothing it was all fine. Because there was no car park had to find some where for the car but it was no problem and parked it not too far away. Nothing we didn't like but a suggestion - We had a kettle in our room. Cups, tea and coffee would have been nice to go with it...but not a major issue. personal thing,no hand towels or flannel just 1 bath towel each.kettle in room but no cups or tea/coffee/milk or instructions.room at front was very noisey because of stone cobble road but sons room at back was amazing.choice of room when arrived by ourself would have put young son in noisey room and we could have had the smaller but quieter room with amazing view. The only thing that could be improved upon for me personally would be the ability to check in to the room before 5pm. No tea or coffee or cups in room but there was a kettle, so maybe this was an oversight!. Traffic noise but not serious. Road traffic noise. Nothing. nothing. Depending on the room we had one that faced onto the street and the traffic was busy. Nothing was all good!. Just a little note about an annoying shelf corner near to the bed in room 6. Caught my head on it more than once whilst getting up from the bed. Nothing. Nothing. The book shelf in the room is the right height for hitting your head on the corner of it as you go into the bathroom- dangerous if getting up in the night.. nothing. Unable to get in until 5 pm. None. Hand towels needed. A bedroom chair would have been nice. nothing. TV Outdated. Noisy bedrooms at front of hotel on busy cobbled road.
