Superb city skyline views if you book a city view room. Great location next door to elevator entry at KingsCross station. Close to great breakfast cafes of Elizabeth Bay , Paddington. Overall staying in this neighbourhood is a colourful suburban / urban experience. An escape from the city centre, but only 1 or 2 train stops @ $3.60 from downtown. The staff were exceptional from the moment we arrived. They were really accommodating and efficient, couldn't fault the service at all. The guy on reception when we arrived was particularly helpful and pleasant. Also really handy for the train station and during the day there were some pretty cool little cafes around.

I requested a room with harbour view and we had a wonderful view from the eighth floor. All in all a very positive expetience. Convenient, budget-friendly location in Sydney. One stop on subway from Circular Quay attractions. Amazing views of Opera House/Harbour Bridge from back side rooms. The included breakfasts are absolutely marvelous!! Staff go out of their way to be helpful, friendly. Staff were friendly, room was modern, clean and well appointed. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was great. The Kings Cross area is an interesting experience with a lot of Adult entertainment, strong Police & Security presence and a mix of all sorts of people. Adjacent to Kings Cross station (although required a walk to main attractions). Frequent minibus service to airport. Courtyard area. Free internet access for 20 minutes a day. Spacious bedroom. Pleasant restaurant for breakfast and good choice of food. The Service and Staff were great! They were very accommodating and helpful in giving us advice for our travels. The location was perfect! It was right next to the train station! A plus! I would definitely stay here again. I loved the proximity to public transport. The bed was comfortable, staff extremely pleasant and it was perfect for the couple of days we visited Sydney. We felt perfectly safe although we were close to Kings Cross. Hotel was located about 25 minutes walk to Sydney harbour also located next to kings Cross train station so getting around was a breeze plenty of eateries and restaurants near by. Great location. Close to transport. Some people would be put off by the seedy side of Darlinghurst Rd. Over 15 years of visiting and staying around this area, I have never found it a problem. If you had a room facing the service lane, the view would not be good. On arriving back to the hotel on a Saturday night I found the area a bit boisterous and full on. We could hear some noise from the pubs and bars but it wasn't too much of a problem as we are heavy sleepers. Could be an issue if you are at the front of the hotel (we were at the back). A bit of a trek to the centre of things and poor selection of restaurants in the area. Noisy neighborhood on weekend nights, but still felt completely safe. Rooms were totally quiet, however. I wouldn't recommend this area of Sydney for families however the hotel itself would be fine for family accommodation. Be prepared for some occasional noise from the streets at night such as shouting and sirens especially on weekends. Not an attractive part of the city and wouldn't be convenient for anyone not prepared to walk a bit to see the main attractions. No complaints at all. Nothing, liked it all. Only one small problem, not sure if it is the hotels responsibility, but when turning into the car park there is a large corner that catches the car wheel, maybe this should be painted a bright colour. The crackled reception on the tv. We dont have foxtel at home so its something we look forward to when staying in a hotel. so $300 a night would have liked it to work properly. Missing mug in the kitchenette. We asked for it after we checked in but he never ended up organizing it like he said he would. WIFI should be free. Area restaurants were below standard, but the in-house restaurant was okay for us. Charging for business and in-room internet is not in keeping with expectations. Free Wifi only 20min/day at lobby, the reason to judge the facilities as good and not as excellent. The curtains in our room were shabby and falling down in parts. We asked for a doube bed and a single in the same room which we did not get. The room allocated was close to a road and there was quite a level of passer-by noise especially around midnight. The cooked breakfast was stale and poorly prepared. Worst bacon I have seen since Malaysia, and that was beef!. As it was a Saturday night in the room I was in you could hear the noise from the bars down in Kings Cross. Next to shabby bars and gambling clubs street. Wifi internet connectivity is way too costly! It should be free (included in the room rate). These days it makes a huge difference in travellers' hotel choice. I would not stay more than a couple of days without internet, and I certainly wouldn't pay the outrageous price. No iPod dock device. The meals weren't overly fantastic, the pasta wasn't great but the octopus salad was lovely!. Still faintly hear music from nightclub across street. NOISE! despite request for a quiet room the nearby nightclub was loud enough to be kept awake by the "duff duff" at 4 in the morning. In fact it seemed to get louder then. Nothing negative about the Holiday Inn Potts Point. no exhaust ventilation in toilet!. carpet was cleaned, but stained and an attempt had been made to clean it.Ironing board was unstable. minor detail, did not detract from the overall pleasant stay. I would stay again, however it seems to attract young party goers which woke us up occasionally.It wouldn't deter me staying again though. When I booked the photos of the room were 2 double beds with a table an lounge, when I got there room was small and only 1 bed. Did not cater for the amount of people we had... Regular rate is over-priced. With a good deal, it is very worthwhile. (like ~ 1/2 price). Sliding cupboard kept falling off. Would have liked water I the fridge and fresh milk Also we booked twin beds and got adouble The twin beds is what sold me when I booked That was the only disappointment. Expensive parking (cheap for Sydney I think though?) No balcony, have to smoke outside. location for those who would find Kings Cross intimidating. Hotels' location close to an unsavoury part of the city. wifi is expensive.
