My wife and I had our 30th anniversary at the Galveston Tremont. I have stayed at hotels around the world and that was the nicest staff that I have ever associated with. I am strongly recommending them to the companies that come to Houston to visit my company. Thank you very much and please give the staff my very best. Thank you, Glenn Spaulding, MD. When they found out it was our anniversary they upgraded our Queen room to a HUGE two room suite with 2 bathrooms and a living room w 12 foot ceilings and a beautiful chandelier! Then later that night sent up complimentary wine, fruit and cheese... A very sweet surprise!.
alla recensioner » Staff was very friendly from the moment we arrived. Easy check in with no problems as well as the check out. Very clean and quiet. The hotel was well located near shops and bars which made it easy for us to make several trips out throughout the day. We loved that we were upgraded from a king single to one of the king suites without asking for it. The king suite was amazing. We also appreciated being able to utlize the valet service. Nice sophisticated hotel. You are also able to use the facilities at the Hotel Galvez - a free shuttle bus goes during the day (every other hour?). Nice bar. The hotel was the last night of our trip to the USA and it was absolutely wonderful! The Staff and the hotel itself was all we expected it to be. Well done!!!!!. The decor was EXACTLY what I was hoping for, and the hotel was within walking distance of so many things we wanted to experience in Galveston. Nice upgrade of an old building in historic Galveston. Friendky staff. everything. service. I have stayed here many times before and had no complaints. The ease of checking out. I wish we could have stayed longer. Each time we requested our car from the valet it usually took 10-15 mins of waiting as they always had plenty of guests requesting cars and not alot of valets. The rooftop bar closed early due to cloudy/windy weather which is understandable. As well as drinks being a little pricey. We had a great stay. Wish it had been longer than one night. The one thing I didn't like was in the booking process. The main desk was unable to book our king, even though one was available through letsbookhotel.com, which is what I used. None. The rooftop bar wasn't open often enough. Nothing. Happy with our stay in Galveston. Slow hot water, no hand grip for tub safety, bill showed two nights' valet parking charge for non-existant car (when I told the desk about this, the charge was quickly removed, but no apology was made for the error plus I had to ask for a paper receipt showing the correction). There was nothing I have to complain about. I changed my credit card to get points for my stay, both credit cards were billed. Very annoying to have to come back after a pleasant trip to deal with that. You had to travel to another hotel for the pool. Cost is about $100 over priced. New Orleans hotels are less for the same type of room. Price needs to be lower. Our room was a 4th floor room overlooking the courtyard. It was also next to the elevator. We found the room dark and noisy from the elevator. Heard that the hotel was haunted, though we didn't experience anything out of the ordinary. The pillows were terrible, lumpy, and uncomfortable. The sheets and blankets on the bed were tucked in so far down that I could only pull them up to my navel. I was so tired that I didn't care to redo the bed, but I didn't sleep very well. Nothing. The only thing I didn't like is a wedding party was being a bit noisy. However, the wedding was at 6pm and it got quiet after that. 1)Pay to valet park when your only other option is to pay by the hour on the street or park blocks away in an unsafe area. 2)No pool or spa on site. Having my room placed directly above the bar while there was a wedding event planned, so heard loud music till 1:00 am. Also annoyed since I requested a quieter room in my online reservation. Front desk only response was that they were fully booked and nothing could be done. Nothing. Parking cost per day was high. None. Bathtub slippery Dangerous Room 425. nothing. cost. This trip was different. My room was next to ice machine and 2 main walkways. Very noisy and hard to rest. The jazz band that played was good, but again very hard to rest when music blaring up the walls into the room. For this price there should have been at least a pool/sauna on site. Going to another hotel for this was very inconvient !!!!!! The hotel was smaller then I thought. Asked for a quiet room location...NOT! We were assigned a room with a balcony over the piano bar. Could not sleep from the noise of partying people and the piano playing. Also near elevator and intersecting halls. So noisy would never go back again!!!.
