Formerly a coach house built in 1890, The Coach House is situated in the heart of the Lake District and 2 minutes’ drive from Windermere town centre and the shores of Lake Windermere.
An en suite shower room is included in each room at The Coach House, as well as a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Some feature cast-iron beds and antique furniture.
A full English breakfast is served in the breakfast room/conservatory and includes local pork sausage. A continental breakfast of hot croissants and pain au chocolat are also on offer. The property can also offer packed lunches by arrangement.
A local train service runs from Oxenholme station to Windermere and the property are 10-15 minutes’ walk from the station. Many activities are available with the Lake District National Park, such as riverside strolls, cycling through forests or hiring a boat or kayak.

Upon arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner. The whole place was fantasticly decorated to a high standard. Very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Breakfast was nvery good and a nice choice to choose from. The few extra touches such as DVD tv and radio in the bathroom were appreciated too, just a pity we didn't bring a DVD to watch. Bright, clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast and friendly host. This was our third visit to The Coach House. We keep coming back because its perfect for what we want from a short break. Great location for fantastic walks, close to both Bowness and Windermere for a choice of restaurants, shops and activities.
Warm and friendly reception even though we arrived 3 hours ahead of schedule. Clean and nicely furnished room and shower room with nice large shower. Excellent breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Very helpful people.
Good location mid-way between Windermere town and Boness and within easy walking distance of both.
1. Host Helen was excellent. We had a flat tyre upon check out and she went out of her way to help us.
2. The room was very well furnished and we could tell the decorator paid close attention to details. Very comfortable room.
3. Location was right in between Windermere and Bowness. Very walkable too.
We had a very pleasant room with a little "balcony" that doors opened onto (although there really was no place to step out to). Very restful and fresh colors throughout the guest house. Backs to a woodland area. Conveniently located on the main road between Windermere and Bowness.
The attention to detail in this lovely guest house was excellent. Very friendly owners thought of everything a traveller could need or want, including a fabulous breakfast. This had to be the Nicest place we stayed in the whole of our weeks away. We loved it.
The Location was great, the room was really tastefully done and the bed was so comfy didn't want to leave it.

Lovely welcome from the Landlady. She gave us lots of info about the area. There was an informative folder in the room, which was exceptionally clean and very pleasant. Food was fabulous and service was first class!!.

Perfect location between Windermere and Bowness (10 mins to either on foot). Fantastic breakfast and the perfect host in Helen who looked after us from the moment we stepped out of the car on arrival.
The host was very friendly and provided extra information to help us get
around. The house is about fifteen minutes walk from the centre of town.
