In the centre of Windermere town just 10 minutes’ walk from the train station is Beckside Cottage. Offering bed and breakfast accommodation with free private parking, the property is built in the traditional Lakeland style.
Guest rooms are en suite and decorated individually. They look out onto the slate rooftops of Windermere, and some have views of the surrounding mountains. All rooms at Beckside Cottage come with a flat-screen TV and complimentary toiletries.
Home-cooked breakfasts are provided each morning along with cereals and fruit. Ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible, and special dietary needs can be catered for if the guest house is notified.
Bowness-on-Windermere is a 25-minute walk away, with its many shops, pubs and restaurants as well as its well-known marina. A 10-minute drive brings guests to Ambleside and the foot of the Langdales.
Windermere is 15 miles away from connections onto the M6 motorway.

Nice, helpful owner, delicious breakfasts with a large selection of dishes and extras (fruit, jams, yogurts etc.). Something for the classic full English lovers as well as for amateurs of an "English continental": continental in content but coming in fair quantities ;-) (delicious pancakes+ croissant). Location not perfect but good, not far from footpaths and still in a walking distance from the lake. Close to the train and bus station: picturesque bus tours available from there. Andy and Jenny were very friendly and helpful when it came time to plan for the days we were spending in and around Windemere. The location was walkable to some villages, but to the trailheads a car or bus was required. The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. Overall a great B&B experience!.
Jenny and Any are very nice so that we feel at home. They always helped us when we need help. Facilities are good, room is clean and comfortable, breakfast very good! Nothing to complain. We will suggest friends to live there.
