  We have learned that in England if you have a car you need to check tosee if there is parking at the Hotel. We have recently stayed in Bathand had to pay 8 pounds per day to park the car at the back of the b andB.   Rooms were amazing- they had obviously spent some money. I loved that they were named after people like A.A. Milne (the room we stayed in. However, next time, I would like to be in either C.S.   The hotel was very comfortable. I had asked for a room with a view over the countryside and was given one. We were originally given a room with an ajoining door which was noisy as we could hear the next rooms tv. I asked reception if we could move. They read my original request for a countryside view and upgraded us for free in order to do this so ... vad folk säger » we had a four poster bed in a lovely room! - Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room was large, well appointed and extremely clean. I had asked for an upstairs room overlooking countryside - my request was complied with and we had a lovely view. Food was outstanding for a hotel. Breakfast plentiful, varied and extra items ordered (ie veggie sausages and smoked haddock) arrived swiftly. Dinner also excellent. - The reception staff were welcoming and friendly and we found all the staff to be smiling and helpful. Our room was very comfortable, well furnished and well decorated. Both food and service in the restaurant were excellent. The breakfast menu catered for all tastes; the food was plentiful and self service ensured we had exactly what we wanted. The dinner menu was also excellent.

  A very warm welcome, lovely atmosphere, ideal location with the added advantage of being directed to their sister hotel to park closer to Oxford City Centre.   The Lakeside was well located in Oxford---within walking distance to most of the colleges, museum, etc., but outside of the hustle and bustle of Oxford proper, so was a bit more quiet. The buses run really frequently and costs - The staff were incredibly nice and friendly, offering coffee if you were sitting in the common area and making individual portions of English breakfast for each guest in the morning. The building has character and is pretty, with a really nice veranda where breakfast is served. The location was pretty convenient - about 20 minutes from the center of the city.

  I stayed a night before an interview. Carol, the landlady/ manager is very friendly, exactly the lovely hallmark character of this B&B as described by others on TripAdvisor. Friendly welcome, lovely room, comfortable and clean. It's next to Abingdon road so obviously you can hear some traffic but not disturbing. Carol, the landlady was so warm, friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Her attention to detail shows that she genuinely loves what she does. She gave us good advice and recommendations and helped make our whole visit a delightful experience. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our room was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. We booked 2 nights but enjoyed it so much we had to stay a third night.
