  Upgraded to a cathedral-facing room on arival - only £10 extra. Fine view. Also quiet. Staff very frtiendly and helpful. And a very good breakfast was included! - the room and toilet where very clean. Nice and quiet. The meal in the restaurant was excellent.Freindly staff. Excellent car parking

  This hotel is beautiful set in wonderful grounds and in a great position just off the A1. We travelled with my sister and her husband to Lincoln Market and stayed at Stoke Rochford Hall. We had a room in the Woodland Lodge and although a little dated was exceptionaly clean and comfortable. After breakfast we had a stro - A beautiful Hall in a stunning setting. The grounds are immaculate and fabulous. My sister in law and I had rooms in Woodland Lodge which were good value for money if a little tired. Had lunch, drinks, dinner and breakfast all of which were excellent. Staff very efficient and attentive. General Manager took the time and trouble to show us around the Hall which was very much appreciated. He is passionate about the Hall and determined in his plans to continually improve standards. Would definitel

  We love this accommodation in the cathedral district in Lincoln. It is an excellent location for visiting the castle and cathedral and on the site of the ancient Roman Forum.   Where do I start? The staff were fantastic (without exception!). Nothing was too much trouble from booking right through to the end of my stay. They made me feel so at home and welcome and encouraged me to explore the lovely surroundings (including St Hugh's Chapel!). The Drawing Room was so lovely and had great views of the City. The food was... vad folk säger » second to none (Give them a Michelin STAR!). I can't recall having such lovely food at such a reasonable price. The steak is heavenly as was the chic - This was our first visit to Lincoln, I booked this hotel as a surprise vist for my husband, he likes to visit Cathedral cities. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast was all we expected. The hotel is in a superb location by the Cathedral. We were upgraded to a fantastic room in the Old Chapel.(I Think this was as a consequence of confusion about the confirmation of the booking. We appreciated it!) We will definitely be back again and we highly recommend it.

  The service was very friendly and personal. I liked the individuality of the hotel.   Very Friendly, polite staff. Massive comfy bed. Very nice atmosphere, can't say about the food as did not eat at the hotel. - location nice and the fact that the hotel had a swimming pool for the little one to use.

  Friendly staff, lovely decorated bedroom room, lovely bathroom comfortable bed. Loved the fact there was complimentry water, free wifi. The complimentry newspaper was a really nice touch too. Its those little things that sets the George apart from other hotels in the UK. The doorman who helped us with our luggage was professional and helpful. Love... vad folk säger » d all the different eating rooms, they seem to have a nice atmosphere but sadly we didn't have evening dinner at the George but have resolved to come - The facilities are everything you would expect from an establishment such as The George -the room was magnificent and the ambience of the hotel relaxing and welcoming. The staff are clearly focussed on guest comfort. It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we will certainly make a return visit soon.

  Set in stunning grounds, the Petwood Hotel is steeped in history if you are interested in WWII, which we were. Our room was an 'executive double' and very large, with coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished and the bed was comfortable and large, albeit it had a duck down duvet in 30 deg... vad folk säger » ree heat and no air conditioning in the room (as it is an old hotel !). Not the hotels fault, we just happened to stay there on one of the hottest su - I came to Petwood specifically because it was the Officer's Quarters for 617 Squadron. The Squadron Bar is a wonderful tribute and memorial to all members of 617, as are all the many paintings. It is to the owner's great credit t6hat this link with the past is maintained. I shall visit again and tell my like minded friends. The food was very good, the room had a great view and was very comfortable - On arrival we were upgraded to the Weigall Suite which was the size of a small cottage and delightful. Very friendly staff, delicious food and a great ambiance in the hotel. We have a Dambuster connection so the Squadron Bar was of particular interest. The bonus was an antique fair just round the corner from our room! Woodhall Spa is an attractive village with interesting shops and amenities.

  We were given sensible ,helpful advice re. parking on the telephone before visit so it only cost £4.50 for our stay in nearby carpark. The young man on reception took an interest in our visit which was a nostalgis trip as we got engaged in Lincoln 46years ago and were celebrating our 45th wedding aniversary. We booked as a 'cheap deal' so were very pleasantly surprised at positon of hotel and standard of room etc. Would love - Loved the location . Hotel well designed but pity the balconies off the top floor bar aren't larger. The days we stayed were very warm and the 2 small balconies were crammed. Disappointed that being residents we couldn't get a seat - they were all taken with non residents which was annoying . Bed very comfy and food good. Breakfast lacked any fresh fruit which wasn't good . Will definitely stay again and recommend it to friends. - What a lovely stay. My partner and I stayed at this hotel for one night whilst visiting Lincolns Christmas Market. I cannot compliment the staff here enough. Friendly, pleasant, helpful and always always wearing a smile and pleased to see you. Great hotel, warm, spotless and quiet. Amazing selection at breakfast. the warm choc-chip "welcome" cookie was a lovely touch. Thank you Double Tree staff - WILL RECOMMEND and WILL RETURN.
