The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a large room with 3 single beds and plent of room to walk around. The view was amazing, and perfect for us to get ready in and crash for one night. Staff were generally friendly. The room was very 'homely' even though it was obviously a very old building. Was cosy at night. The area wasn't too noisy even though it was on the beach. Very pleased with my stay, already planning to stay here again when me and my friend next visit Brighton.

I found the Hotel in general excellent value, there was just one 'niggle', that was, the mattress buttons were held in place by small metal or maybe plastic pins, and as there was no mattress cover these tended to stick into ones back, and were impossible to avoid, apart from this, I enjoyed my stay and would certainly go back again.

The hotel is very conveniently located - close to an underground car park and the sea front. The room we had was great, clean with nice interior. The only let down was the view. As we were located below the ground level, we had a wall of the neighboring building as the window view. Apart from that everything was really good and we would be going back when visiting Brighton again.

The staff were quite a mixture of nationalities but in spite of the occasional hiccup in language were extremely helpful and pleasant, I even had a lesson from the Polish housemaid on how to fold the towels like swans. Breakfasts were variable and plentiful and the Greek waitress cheery and helpful.

Housekeeping was very efficient and cleaned our room everyday without fail. The staff were lovely and a lovely cooked and continental breakfast was included in the rate for each morning. I would suggest that the continental selection be set up buffet style so that guests can help themselves and this would help the staff as they were constantly rushed off their feet.

We stayed here for a few hours before getting a 4am lift to Gatwick airport. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the shuttle bus service is excellent. £3 each way from the airport to the hotel. There is a very good restaurant at the nearby Premier Inn which is 5 mins walk away if you don't want to eat at the Ibis, we had very good steaks there.

Great value for money, room small but there was a private toilet and shower with clean towels, soap and shower gel, which was great. Wouldn't expect more for the price I paid. When I arrived the lady was very helpful and told me everything I needed to know about how the hotel works. It was ok for one night. -

Fantastic service, lovely room and just a very enjoyable and comfortable stay!! - Staff were very efficient. Breakfast was good (despite tables being too small to fit everything on!). Black out curtains are always good for a better nights sleep and we had them in our room

We were advised by the hotel on the morning of the day we were due to check in that there were problems with the gas and no hot water. We were offered the option to be transferred to the Imperial Hotel next door which we did so we cannot comment on the Cumberland itself. We love the sun room with all the settees, it was so relaxing just sitting in the warmth and watch the world go round.
The 3 receptionist ladies were always ready to help with a smile.
There were plenty to eat for breakfast and we were well looked after by the staff.

The hotel staff were as friendly, polite and helpful as they had been the previous year and this is one of the main reasons we returned. They even remembered us and placed us in the same rooms, 15 and 16, which was a lovely touch.

Clean comfortable room with lovely big comfortable bed. Nice modern bathroom. We were very happy with accommodation. Plenty of tea/coffee etc. Quiet small pub just around the corner from main road so no noise in our room.
Also it was good to have a separate entrance to your accommodation so no need to go through the pub bar with your bags. Lots of café/restaurants & shops around the pub.
The owners very friendly and helpful.

I often travel on a budget, and I must say I've rarely been that happy with a hotel. Big room, very clean, even had a shower inside! Most budget places have shared facilities and can be really tiny.

We have stayed here twice and have been more than happy! The rooms are clean, comfortable and all you will need for a weekend in Brighton. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Brighton so perfectly located. We would definitely stay there again!

We have stayed at the Churchill several times, mainly chosen for location to family we visit. But it is good value, good sized rooms, great Chinese restaurant and good English breakfast.
There was a problem with the shower, but the manager/owner went out of his way to rectify it, even though the hotel was full. The next day, when he should have been off, he came in to make sure we were moved to another room, which was actually bigger. They always give good service.
