The setting was spectacular, in one of the most interesting and historic houses in Cornwall, the historic home of Charles Valentine Le Grice, a direct decendent of a follower of William the Conquerer. The rooms are truly romantic and spacious, with lovely views of the grounds and garden. The graciousness and kindness of the family in residence, who outdid themselves as approachable and yet truly noble people, was the greatest highlight. Extremely comfortable and grand bedroom, magnificant en. alla recensioner »
Fantastic country house with real history about it. The staff were friendly and the son was kind enough to even give us a tour of some of the rooms. Good breakfast and our room was very comfortable and spacious. The long driveway through the extensive grounds was great, but the real highlight was wandering through the well kept gardens in the evening / morning.
Beautifully presented gardens that add to the charm of this historical manor house B & B. The bedroom was very spacious and inviting to relax amidst gorgeous antique family furniture. Breakfast was a must to savour before hightailing for sightseeing around Penzance and nearby areas. Staff kind and helpful.
The room was very spacious and comfortable -in a fascinating historic manor house .The owners were helpful and informative. Breakfast conversations wth other guests at the shared table made a good start to the day -We recommend breakfast made and served by Doris - cheerful and helpful -and a real character.
Family owned and operated. Genuinely friendly and professinal attitude especially from Pete. Excellent breakfasts. Bed and room were very comfortable. House is a treasure and grounds are beautiful. Desparately needed an electrical outlet converter and Pete secured that item for us.
Peter greeted us and was extremely knowledgeable about the house and its history. We were expecting an old rambling country house and that is exactly what we got. It is in a beautiful location as well as conveniently off the main road.
The large rooms; the setting; the decor; the comfortable bed. Breakfast
was excellent too. The hosts are welcoming, yet otherwise unobtrusive.
We felt very welcome at their beautiful house.
Beautiful, historic house near Penzance.
Wonderful welcome, I felt like a house guest not a paying guest.
Excellent breakfast of local produce.
Great location to stay in, penzance town centre was 5 minutes away. Fantastically delicious cooked breakfast also. Will be back!.
Superb house, accommodation excellent. Owners a delight to meet. We will be back to stay longer next time.
Treeife House has a wonderful ambience and a unique setting and character, I felt like one of the family!.
The chilled atmosphere and grounds were idyllic. The staff focused on there guests at all times. 10/10.
A really friendly family-run hotel, and a privilege to be able to stay in such a wonderful building.
Unique home with history which makes it a different and interesting B&B option.
very interesting old house and lovely gardens and views.
very comfortable apartment.
Excellent breakfast. Good location for bottom end of Cornwall. Efforts being made by the family to keep the house as a going concern despite the neglect of previous years.
Staff were all friendly. Breakfast was simple but well cooked. Genuine historic house. Easy parking. Gardens well maintained.
Being in a house with a long history
The second bedroom we had
The breakfasts.
nothing.
Bathroom needs some attention to its condition (walls refinished and painted) and other amenities (shampoo, conditioner) could be provided.
A little drafty in parts of the house but that is to be expected with its age.
With only bedside lights in the room, standard lamps would have improved
the lighting. Bathroom needs a shaver point and lamp above the basin.
Rotten front gate hanging off its hinge does not give a good initial
impression!.
Not a thing.
Lights needed round the back for access to Southey and Hazlitt in particular. Fill in some of the holes in approach road to create better initial impression.
View of the gardens from the Southey room simply is untrue. The soil level is halfway up the window so you cannot see anything. Ground coffee is nice touch but the jug to make it in is as antique as the house. No chair or stool in the bedroom. Damp rooms. Historic house in need of some serious updating.
The first bedroom we had (Damp)
the chaos when the fire alarm went off at 10.30pm.
