  Owners are very friendly and helpful. Loved the place! Food at breakfast was excellent!! Well recommended. - The accomodation was extremely comfortable and luxurious. The best breakfast ever.

  Lower Buckton is a one off. A family home,with the furnishings and trappings of a family - cosy and old fashioned with the warm and special welcome of Carolyn and Henry. Carolyn hosts and cooks, Henry chats and waits on. Carolyn runs cookery courses both at the house and in the locality and wider county.   Everything about Old Downton Lodge was perfect. We could not have wished for a better place to have stayed. David the Manager came to greet us as we arrived and his friendly, courteous manner continued throught our stay. The setting was stunning and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed whilst providing guests with that something special. The setting is quiet and peaceful and the restored ancient buildings are indescribably beautiful. The large guest lounge with a fire would be wonderful for a group booking and the dinners we had were first class. We will recommend it to all our friends
