We had a really good stay for the folk festival. The rooms were lovely, the beds super comfortable and the cooked breakfast definitely the spot in the morning. We would recommend the place to anyone wanting to stay a bit further out from the city center. As our destination was cherry Hinton hall it was perfect!.
Absolutely loved staying here with its proximity to the Cam and Byron's Pool walking track as well as easy bus access to Cambridge. The staff were super sweet and helpful, breakfast generous and the original buildings of the pub enchanting NOT luxurious but a nice change from tiny London hotel rooms!. alla recensioner »
Friendly attentive staff, good sized room with comfy bed and some rather nice shortbread biscuits with tea and coffee.Good breakfast cooked to order. Room cold on arrival but staff member came immediately to demonstrate heater which worked quickly and was completely adequate.
It was a lovely run public house with very helpful friendly staff. The accommodation was so clean and modern and the grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was lovely. Perfect location for city centre. Will definitely being returning again soon.
Very helpful, friendly staff.
Great breakfast.
Decent price, compared to other Cambridge options, lovely old pub and nice location in semi-countryside outside Cambridge, but very easy to get into the city by bus, taxi, or even on foot.
The family who own the Inn were very friendly and helpfull. They gave us directions how to get into Cambridge and told us not to use the car this week. The breakfast was great with plenty of food on our plates. Would stay again.
Simple, not fussy, good food, friendliest staff I've met in a long time. Not luxurious but fine for a group of blokes on a biking trip. Air con in rooms. Ideal for the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.
The location, for us, was excellent as we walked into Cambridge via the Granchester Meadows walk along the river.
The room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent.
A great budget overnight option, rooms are clean and modern, food excellent with tasty home cooked food and generous portions, all topped off by the friendly staff.
The atmosphere, location, the surroundings, home made food was really good, the staff was very helpful, friendly, and kind, all together a very good experience.
the staff the rooms the settings even the building work did not affect sitting out in the garden
the breakfast was very good
have booked to go again.
Excellent location for travel into city centre; outstanding service from all members of staff; superb breakfast; nice gardens for sitting outside.
Really good location for eather the city or countryside . Plus close to park and ride for ducksford . Staff couldent be more frendly or helpful .
City Trip was the best fit, but what I was looking for was a relaxed and friendly nature. I was able to wind down and relax.
Comfortable quiet room. Excellent place to stay reasonably close to city centre. Good breakfast. Free parking.
I felt very comfortable here as a solo female traveller. The food was 5* and look forward to staying again.
Beautiful little pub with a great pub atmosphere. Close to the historic city and other tourist areas.
For the price, we were impressed with the size of the bedroom and the cleanliness of the bathroom.
Room was spacious. Parking was convenient and included in cost. Breakfast was very good.
Very friendly staff and great ambience.
Good choices on menu and food was well presented.
It was very central for where we wanted to be.For a short stay it had all we needed.

The staff were incredibly helpful in making my stay enjoyable.
Quiet setting not too far from town. Good breakfast service.

No nonsense with a warm & friendly atmosphere.

Comfortable Motel type room.
Bar staff friendly and welcoming.
Rooms very good.pub good.
everything was ok for us.
everything was prefect.
every thing.
Personal chalet-style room on the other side of the pub garden from the main building. Comfortable king-size bed with nicely presented soft furnishings and en suite bathroom with large walk-in shower, air conditioner, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries provided. Breakfast was included in the price. Friendly staff and quiet village setting, plenty of parking. I would be very happy to return here on another occasion.
Near to Cambridge. Plenty of free parking. Comfortable room. Good breakfast. Good value for Cambridge. Pleasant staff. Good evening meals.
clean modern rooms, good food and selection of real ales.
convienient for Anstey Hall just across the road.
Pub a good place to hang out. Staff welcoming.
The food and Breakfast staff were very good.
Staff were friendly and rooms were modern.
Good position near where our family live.
Seprate restaurant was good.
breakfast was OK
Pub itself was good: good range of beers and traditional feel
Looked ggod for families.
When we arrived it took a while to confirm our booking. It wasn't a big problem as we got there in the end. Our waitress in the morning took a few attempts to get our order right but was worth the wait. All in all, nothing that would put us off staying there again in the future.
Hot water in basin rather a thin trickle although shower more than adequate.
The bathroom was a little sparse and could do with something to make it feel more comfortable. Also, the shower pressure wasn't great.
The rooms were newly built, but unfortunately ours had very little view of the garden because of some large trees which are going to be cut down. The room was very dark and needed a light on during the day.
Shower could have had a bit more umph, but ok.
The pub itself could do with a lick of paint!.
We stay in room 8, there were lots of building materials left out side in front of the room.
shower was hit and miss with
hot and cold
still enough to wash and clean.
Nothing. It was a good experience.
Very feeble shower.
nothing.
The accommodation was somewhat lacking in privacy; the windows had only vertical blinds and no curtains.
Also noise was an issue. The rooms overlook the beer garden, and in the late evenings there were people talking and laughing and dogs barking, which I could hear clearly from my room.
Although there are regular buses into the city, I would not recommend anyone to rely on them; they are slow (owing to other traffic) and take an indirect route.
Twin beds, one of which was lumpy and past its best. Shower was a trickle.
can't think of anything in particular.
There was no soap in the bathroom.Thats all we were short of.
Kitchen had closed by time we arrived, so missed an evening meal.
Showers... No power!! I was in room 8,
Larger TV required my laptop screen is bigger!.
n/a.
Pub itself needs renovation.
Shower pressure was poor.
The distance from the city.
Noise sometimes from room above.
Breakfast menu needed upgrading with fresh fruit.
A loft was above Motel rooms, so could hear footsteps above ...
Food average.
nothing.
shower could be a bit better.
The shower, no pressure.
Too much salt used in main meals.
Only small things: could have done with a hair dryer and iron/ironing board in the room, the room had several spiders in residence and the lighting in the breakfast room was very subdued.
Poor shower. Too little water pressure. Towels were a bit small too. Very small TV.
shower was terrible, no pressure at all come out in a dribble.
Hot water barely dribbled out of the tap, living quarters in the roof space above the rooms with people constantly walking back and fourth from the very early hours not worth £80 per night.
Lousy mattress and pillows in room 5.
very noisy room with people walking above.
Water pressure to the shower was reduced to a dribble and lukewarm. Meals were average but breakfast was good.
accommodation very basic.
Outside of pub looks tatty, perhaps time of year, gardens looked untidy
bits lying around.
Pricey for what felt like motel accommodation.
Too far outside the city (my fault for not checking more carefully).
