This was our third stay at The Griffin - and I am sure we will stay there again:
staff are always very cheerful, helpful and welcoming;
location is great for exploring Bath - near station as we travel by train and central for shops, theatre, etc.
Breakfast is fine, as are the bar snacks and range of beers and wines.
The staff and general ambience. Nothing too much trouble. Left a jacket
behind - sorry! They rang to advise, posted it immediately and emailed
me too! Amazing service and so kind. Fantastic cooked breakfast and
delicious blueberry pancakes. Quaint bedrooms. Great central location
yet quiet street.alla recensioner »
The room was darling, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, served downstairs in the pub. Wifi was reliable and included in the room rate. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Would definitely consider returning to The Griffin Inn!.
All the staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The beds were sooo comfortable, mattress, pillows, duvet & sheets.Good shower with plenty of hot water.
Located within 5 mins easy walking distance to the centre of Bath. Would recommend to stay here.
The Griffin was in a fantastic location only 5 mins walk to all the beautiful sights, shops and pubs of Bath. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really delicious and the best omlette I have ever eaten regards to the Italian chef.
Staff is extremely friendly. Room are located over the pub, which is very climatic. Pub is quite calm and does not cause any disturbing noise.
Very good breakfast. Great location - few minutes walk from Bath Abbey and railway station.
cosy little inn, we stayed for 3 nights but could have easily stayed a week. Breakfast spread was great and mostly everything was excellent. Ciders on tap were great. We'll be back and i'll be recommending it to our friends / family!.
The room was well fitted with all comforts required while maintaining the true character of the old building. Location great close to baths and central attractions. Fabulous professional staff who made us feel welcome.
good staff good location for visiting. The bedroom is comfortable and sleep really well i would like to stay one more night but the booking is full. However,i would choose this hotel if i want to visit bath again .
Excellent location, quiet even though near the town centre, lots of character in the building but still comfortable, and lovely breakfast- lots of choice including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on a bagel.
Staff were helpful and friendly, room was very comfortable and cosy and the inn was a short walk from the main shopping area. Excellent value and the breakfast was locally-sourced and delicious. Recommended!.
Great breakfast and friendly staff! I enjoyed my stay. I stayed on the top floor in the room with no en-suite bathroom. The bathroom outside the room was private, used only by me and it was no problem.
The room was nice , clean and of modern décor. The staff were friendly. It was a good quiet central location. A very good chose of breakfast. Vegetarian / cooked/ fruit etc.
Warm welcome; friendly, helpful responsive staff; good and generous breakfast. Good sized, invigorating shower. Excellent location in the centre of Bath, yet not noisy.
Really nice staff, felt really welcome and well taken care of. The room
was really nice too although the floor was which was very strange
especially when getting up.
Central location, near everything, comfortable pub with reasonable range of food available. Leave car at park and ride and bus into town stops nearby.
Excellent breakfast. Nice, very clean room in very old building right in
the centre of Bath. Really nice guys running it. We enjoyed our stay.
The staff were very warm and accommodating. Room although small was very well equipped. Breakfast was great. Excellent central Bath location.
The general atmosphere (small ancient inn with just a few rooms) and location, helpful staff, excellent breakfast included in room price.
Excellent location and great breakfast. Powerful shower and plenty of hot water. Friendly, helpful staff. Griffin beer worth a try too.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, bed was comfortable and room was
clean, location was excellent. I would stay here again.
A very warm welcome, lovely room and fabulous breakfasts. Location excellent for all the city centre sights. We'd stay again.
Staff were very polite and friendly.
Breakfast was really good! (they even gave us extra tea!)
Nice clean, comfortable room.
The ambiance and friendliness of the inn was second to none, it had been tastefully re decorated . The breakfast was superb.
The staff were helpful, breakfast was good and the location was very central. 10 minutes walk from the railway station.
Had a fantastic stay. Staff we very friendly, room was lovely and breakfast was delicious! Can't fault any of it.
the Staff were so nice, friendly and keen on the comfort of guests, namely Ms Astrid, the Inn hostess.

Friendly Staff
Quirky interior
Good ale
Nice breakfast.
Lovely location
Great value for value
Comfortable beds.
A lovely room and a wrm welcome in the heart of bath.
Location and cleanliness. Friendly and helpful staff.
Staff were fantastic, breakfast was delicious,.
staff were very helpful
location very central.
Stayed in Room 6 this time, found the bathroom rather small.
Narrow stairs to bedrooms not suitable for very elderly. Not their
fault. Grade ii LIsted building so was never going to be set up for
disabled. Nevertheless the staff were helpful and tolerant and stored
our mobility scooters. Thank you so much!.
Stairs up to the room were tight, but once we got the luggage upstairs, it was okay.
Quite noisy meaning you can hear through the walls to other rooms. One of our party was kept awake most of one of the nights due to this, plus the room was on the street so could hear traffic best to stay in a side street room.
The building was built in the 1700s so NO complaints...
Despite the fact that the hotel is integrated with pub, there was no food available on evening.
The salmon at breakfast didn't seem the most fresh... but that's it!.
TV remote not working although tv did.
It was a little bit difficult to find. It was easier to approach from Monmouth street.
Stiff, clunky tap in bathroom. Staff should explain the breakfast arrangements better, rather than leaving guests to work them out - especially as regards the complex and dismally slow toaster.
Road noise.
Our room very comfortable but ensuite very tight indeed.
Having to enter the room either through a busy pub or (after hours) up a steep couple of steps to a side door.
Not their fault but the sea gulls are noisy at night.
My breakfast was ok but the bacon and mushroom was stone cold! The
toaster didn't work properly either, I think £60 for a single room
on a week day is a too dear £45 would be more like it.
Location - was in the city centre but a little difficult to find in the first place.
The only thing I could say I didn't like was that I found it too hot in the bedroom but that is purely preference.
The room was on a slight slope which was a little disconcerting.
Noise from people in the pub late into the evening; narrow stairs to haul luggage.
Window was filthy and mouldy. Towel rail and fan in bathroom not working.
Nothing.
Althought it was not a problem for us, the Griffin is not for someone who cannot navigate narrow staircases as there is no elevator.
Nothing.
Shower could do with a refurbishment.
Wall between my room and adjacent one was very thin. Some noise outside during the night, but this can't be helped!.
Little privacy in the room, with the neighboring property looking straight into the room....maybe some blinds.
Carpet in room a bit grubby.
Difficulty with WiFi access.
Nothing special.
Very small bathroom facilities
Shortage of clothes storage and hangers.
Parking!.
Wifi didn't work in our room.
narrow stairs
bad toaster.
