This was our first trip to Yigo after many trips to other areas of Spain. We only spent 1 night here which could have been more. The staff and owners are very attentive and helpful. Everything. This hotel is wonderfull. The location is perfect, at the apex of the waterfront, the grand avenues and the old city. A beautiful old building completely refurbished, and rooms were well appointed. The owners are very professional and very personable, and attentive to small details. I recomended this hotel to anyone. A 4 star hotel at 3 star prices.

Clean, quiet, lovely decor in the bedroom and bathroom, buffet breakfast was very good (so many choices of bread & beverage!), owner Fanny was very friendly and nice (she gave tips on the Camino Frances, and she even went out of her way to pick me up at the bus station when I arrived at 3pm and weather was too hot for walking). Fanny and Javi made the whole stay a wonderful experience. Their Hostal is aims day pilgrims doing the camino and they have everything arranged for a relaxing stay after a lot of walking. Soft towels, a kitchen, comfortable beds and a lovely outdoor area.

We stayed for 10 nights, the hotel is on the edge of town , but everywhere is within easy reach. The Patron and his team were all very friendly and eager to please, we felt very welcome and looked well looked after.
A Guarda has the feel of old Spain, lots of friendly polite people, fresh local food and produce, and you feel welcome where ever you go. We stayed during the fiesta's and WOW the amount of people was amazing, but such a friendly atmosphere !
