  I stayed at the Tropicana in December 2010 and was not impressed at all. During my last stay I notced a remarkable improvement, i.e refurbishment, staff, etc. Well done! - The fact that it is on the beach front and our bus just dropped us at the door, that was awesome. Value for money as well.

  The excellent rate I got through letsbookhotel.com, the spacious, comfortable well-appointed room and bathroom, the lovely old-style feel although the hotel could definately do with a make-over/a bit of freshening-up. - The stay was so pleasant and the staff was always available to help.   The hotel is well priced but the location is very dodgy to say the least.We were able to get parking at least.The close proximity of the bars are a huge turnoff and that coupled with the night staff at the front desk being so indifferent to my child who tried to greet was not a great advert for the hotel.I Was happy with the rest of the staff as w... vad folk säger » ell as the neatness and breakfast was satisfactory.I Will not stay there again.It is not kid friendly. - We had a nice weekend @ Albany hotel together with my friends. The positive thing is transport is just near meaning local taxis without a hassle in just few seconds. The friendly staff of Albany hotel always available to assist with a smile. The other thing is it's secure because the security is always around 24/7 and all this services @ an affordable price. Will definitely book @ Albany again. Keep up the good work!!

  Although its in the city, you don't get to hear to city noise and the views from the hotel are very nice - From arrival to departure, we were made to feel that we were guests and not just people to fill rooms. We would stay there again when next we visit Durban.

Felt like we travelled back in time. Bedding was clean percale cotton of high quality. Room had Airconditioning and Satelite Hotel bouquet DSTV. It was funished with antique furniture and the bed was of a good qual - The total experience, but primarily the rewriting of history. The colonial history of the hotel is abundantly clear in its incredible collection of wooden furniture, tap crowns, low door handles, etc. However, it reflects a poetic irony in the Madiba art collection and his inspiring words in his own handwriting, and the "new" queen of the castle halfway up the majestic stair case.   The special treats at night by closing the curtains, open of beds and chocolates were very special and a nice touch. The design and re-use of an old building is such a clever idea and most pleasing to the eye. The chef at breakfast as well as supper and presentation was excellent. In fact, we would like to rebook at the end of April again. - The venue is situated at the habour, so we could view the activities of the harbour which was interesting. The venue is also very peaceful and quite, so if you want to relax, away from the "city in the city", this is ideal. We also loved the lounge area outside in the courtyard, so if you want to have your meal or drinks outside the restaurant, it makes it an excellent option.
