  The rooms were large and comfortable. The bathrooms had great toiletries. The breakfasts had plenty of choice and were well cooked. We saw whales from the balcony within 5 minutes of arriving, and the cliff path was close by and a great walk. Lavender manor is very close to Hermanus golf club which is a very well kept golf club. I can't imagine why anyone would stay in town, as there is no beach there, only rocks, and a lot of people. When I arrived, I walked to the beach in the late afternoon and was immediately hooked.

  Our hosts were delightful and very welcoming. Our room was more than expected and the views down to the beach were spectacular. We deliberately visited in winter (because we're South Africans and Dubai's 365 days of sunshine is boring) when it rained a bit so we didn't make use of the braai or the balcony that much but our room was cozy and perfec... vad folk säger » t for romance. The breakfast was delicious and the overall atmosphere was tranquil and relaxing. In fact, we were so taken with the place we were hopi - Jose and other staff were very friendly and helpful. He even booked our shark diving tour when our operator let us down. Breakfast was lovely, room big and heaters a thoughtful touch as chilly at night. Shower was huge and plenty of hot water. This isnt the cheapest guesthouse in the area, but certainly has the service. I would highly recommend.

  Very friendly and helpful owner that gave us lots of helpful advice. It's only a short stroll to the beach and the shops and restaurants. Bright and modern rooms, we even had a jacuzzi in our room. A shared kitchen and living room is available. - Rooms were lovely and large, very comfortable.   The apartments are very spacious indeed, my girlfriend and I had three bedrooms and three bathrooms between us!. The rooms are decorated to a very high standard indeed and were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and always willing to assist answering any questions. The hotel is actually apartments in a shopping mall which makes it safe (on top of a permanent person at the reception).   We planned on staying one night at Baleens, but changed to 2 after getting there. We loved the wonderful building and the African furniture and furnishings. The stained glass window with proteas was beautiful! We had booked a family room that sleeps 4 (there were three of us), and were given two rooms; one with sea and mountain views and the other... vad folk säger » with an outrageous sea view! We could easily have seen whales.... If the whales had decided to make an appearance (which they did not). The rooms wer - This is a fantastic place for anyone that would enjoy a breathtaking view ( I had a panoramic view over Grotto Beach from my room/balcony), a close access to the beach (the footpath starts just 25 meters from the place) cleanliness, excellent basic service and an overall lovely experience. The staff and owner Paula went way beyond what was expected with providing information and transport to ensure that we had the best experience possible while staying there (in our case 5 days)- including (
