Silesian Hotell

We stayed in the Qubus in katowice for 3 nights. The hotel is right in the centre of Katowice and really easy to find. The hotel reception is very clean and modern and the reception staff very attentive. The rooms of the hotel are on floors 19 to 27, we where on the 25th floor with vast views of the city of Katowice, however its not very pleasing to the eye. The rooms are spacious and very clean, our room had a double bed, which was very comfortable, a tv, mini bar, safe, full bathroom with fres - Rosalind

The Hotel is located slightly out of the centre of Katowice though the centre is still within walking distance. A taxi from the train station to the hotel costs 20 Polish Zloty. To get to the hotel by car it appears you have to drive through the forecourt of a filling station. If you get a taxi driver who follows his sat nav you may find that you end up in a brown field site as happened to us on a couple of occasions (you can still make it to the hotel through this ground though!). We just returned home from a trip to Poland. While in Katowice we stayed at the Hotel Monopol for 4 nights. What a fantastic experience! From the moment we stepped thru the front doors and onto the floating glass floors of the lobby, we knew we were in for a treat. The entire hotel has been redone to reflect the industrial surroundings of the area with 5 star flair. the dining room is superbly done with sloping ceilings made entirely of solid glass and steel beams. very modern and minimalist. Hotel is located further from the centre than I thought however there is a frequent and cheap bus service from near the hotel to the centre( Nos 10 and 150) Walking would have taken about 30 mins or so. Have used Campanile in Warsaw, same standard but much nearer city centre. The hotel is a modern clean hotel next to the Autoban but there was no traffic noise. There is a nearby Shopping Mall which has a very good selection of shops , a large supermarket and a very good selection of eating estab - Richard

Nothing wrong with the hotel, just a standard hotel. It has a small bar and a restaurant. The breakfast buffet is pretty good with a large selection. Room was smallish, but clean and everything worked. - David

Stayed one night in a single room for a family event. The hotel is conveniently situated, a couple of minutes walk from the rail station. I had a very decent rate, including a single room on the top floor, overlooking an inner courtyard. The top floor was obviously a new addition and things "creeked" a little as you walked around. However the room was correctly but simply furnished and the bathroom was fine. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff in the hotel were all very - Christine

I had the pleasure of taking a delegation of UK business people and Civic Dignatories to this hotel for three days in September. Of course this is not a five star hotel with pool etc., but what it does have more than makes up for this. We had a formal dinner which was served graciously and efficiently and the food and presentation was excellent in every respect. We had a very full agenda for all of our stay including some very early mornings and very late nights, never-the-less, the hotel staff - Martin

I stayed in Euroapartment for a lads weekend in Katowice. The 5 bed apartment was great for the three of us, with one double c/w bathroom, one twin c/w bathroom and the 5th bed would have been in the lounge/diner had we wanted it. The space was great for approx 100GBP, in a quiet street but only a few minutes from everywhere. Late check in, and breakfast delivered to our apartment were a bonus. We were even allowed to keep the apartment till we left at 3pm on the Sunday as no one was commming. T - Khaled
