Citybox is absolutely excellent! We had a lovely warm, clean room which was a very good size. No one bothered us and yet they were there to help us if need be. Sebastian in the café was very welcoming, served delicious food and was also very interesting to chat to. We plan to visit again! Citybox is also excellently located and very reasonable priced.
Very close to the railway (5 min max. walking) and to the city center (10 min walking). Kitchen with microwave oven and tables. The cutlery can be borrowed from the bar opposite to the kitchen. The rooms are clean and the shared bathrooms are most of the times clean (mostly depending on the other guests which are sharing the bathrooms with you). The room had an electrical heating system, which was very good.
I would like to find some plastic cutlery in the kitchen, so I can use them outside the bar opening times.

My husband and I stayed at Citybox from the 25.10.13 to 27.10.13 without any problems. I agree with some reviews below, it is a hostel and not a hotel. However we had a very comfortable stay in an en suite room in an expensive city. This place was not only cheap but also walking distance to everything as Bergen is a small city. Our bed was comfortable, our shower was warm and our sleep was uninterrupted. No tv in the rooms but my husband loaded a couple movies for us to watch on his tab. The wifi worked fine and the cafe downstairs was our choice for morning coffee. You can also use the communal area for warming up food etc, just ask to borrow cutlery at the cafe. We recommend Kroathai which is close to the hotel as prices there slightly cheaper than those closer in the city centre. We also ate at China Palace in the main square - expensive but good service. We wil definitely go back to Bergen to see the fjords as rain prevented us from doing this and if Citybox has availability then yes we will stay again. Bergen is expensive and we prefer to save on accommodation to do other things such as the fjords or funicular.
I would have loved to have tea/ coffee making facilities in the room.
The location is excellent. Short walk from the central station and the city center. The staff was very helpful. They went the extra mile to help me and promptly informed me of a forgotten Kindle which I retrieved before leaving Bergen.
Pillows. Tiny pillows. Soap dispenser was empty after two uses. Internet reception was bad in the room and down the foyer. In general, minor things that can be easily remedied.
I felt very safe spending nights there by myself and also leaving my belongings there throughout the day.

The price was a great value for Bergen. Very happy with room 209. It was quiet and larger than some rooms. The cafe next door has great espresso and oatmeal.
it's absolutely close to the central station and also the coach stop to the airport.

My bed was terrible, very soft and i have heard my each change of position. There was 3 times during the night howling of alarm systems, even firefighters came. Obviously malfunctioning, but not very pleasant.

Most affordable accomodation we could find in Bergen, beyond our expectations, very decent, clean, quiet, 10mins walk to center. Included linen and towels (which one usually has to pay for in Norway). We shared bathroom with only another room and it was tidy. Staff very friendly. Downstairs reception quite large, with kettle and microwave which come in handy for food bought from nearby supermarket.

My issue was the lack of a phone number in the room in case of an emergency, which they seem to be resolving. There is a security person on call...etc but the phone number is located in the lobby. I did not have a tv either, which surprised me but maybe it stated that in the description.

Location was good , near the bus and train station ,in the city centre near all the attractions . Room was very spacious .microwave and kettle available in the common lounge .Staff was cooperative .
Bathrooms needs renovation . there was not a single hook in the bathroom to hang the towel .view from the windows was not nice ,showing all the untidy backyard .however I suggest not to open the windows to keep the house flies from coming in .internet was not good in the room, but good in lobby .

Very good location. Close to the center and places worth to see. Great view from the window. Wonderful design of room. Clean. Kitchen downstairs or cosy bar. With Bergen Card a lot of discounts in the city.

I would recommend this place. Staff are very friendly. There is a nice communal area where you eat, make hot drinks and watch TV. We booked a double room which was very large. Decor was quite nice. The bathroom was very good size too.
If I had to be picky, I'd say no shelves or any place in the bathroom to keep any clensing/ make- up products.

Well designed rooms which made the most of the space available. Excellent bathroom. Top breakfast cafe (unfortunately not included in price) with best coffee we had in Norway.

Great hotel for the price in Bergen. No frills, but comfortable, clean and quiet. Stayed in a family room for four. A double bed and a bunk bed. Close to bus station and a short walk to downtown. Coffee shop downstairs.
Check in process was automated and had trouble with my American credit card. But there is a phone near by where you could call for assistance. Did that and was able to check in face to face with a person.

Very big problem with parking place. You can park on the street from 11:00 p.m to 8:00 a.m. Parking in the car parking place near the hotel cost 180 NOK per day and you can't come and go as you like. No heating in the room.
Low price for Bergen. Microwave oven, kettle and many tables in the lounge. Friendly staff. Supermarket opposite the hotel Good choice to stop for 1-3 nights saving money at the food (it's incredibly expensive there).
No curtains at the window (opposite home citisens - welcome to see the striptease). We were promised to have double room but we've got twin at first (but to the honour of hotel - it was changed to double in two minutes after we asked about).
