Very nice guy at the reception at night. A new, clean, comfortable hotel. It is (I guess) a renovated office building. Spotless bathroom. Good location, 24h reception, nice view at the back, excellent for a business stay.
I read some complaints about the soft matrasses. Mine was soft indeed, but I had a very good sleep.
The LOCATION was great, in Overtoom, on of the main access arteries of Amsterdam, 3mins walk from Leidseplein; Coffee and Tea for free in Hotel beatiful lounge, kettle for tea in hotel bedroom, nice and CLEAN; The STAFF was great, lots of them, all spoke fluent english and they were really very nice in a non-forced way; This Hotel improved our Amsterdam experience, we stayed for 4 days and in the end it felt like home. Thank you.
Soft beds;
After elimination from Amsterdam was removed from the credit card for the second time during our stay. Now versed with them. Moreover advance acquitted 4 days prior to visiting a hotel. Although there is nothing written about the advance, and it is written that the day before the arrival being charged fee for one day stay...
Very friendly and helpful staff. Free use of coffee machine 24 hrs a day was a great incentive.
None
The new hotel. Great location - near tram stop, a lot shops near. Not far from museums and Leidseplace.
No fridge in the room.
Fantastic Location, the room was great , no mean accomplishment when considering that this is Amsterdam. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. The wifi was FREE and very FAST.
Very small room
Location Friendly staff
smell of cigarettes in the no-smoking rooms
I couldn't fault this hotel - I will visit again

the place perfect, near anywhere, the room excellent
Cleanliness of the room; Staff are very courteous; Free espresso
Would probably be nice if there is an alarm radio in the room.
The location was excellent. We appreciated having coffee/tea available 24 hours a day. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. They stored our bags on the day we checked out so we could do a bit more sightseeing. We will recommend Hotel Espresso to our friends!
The breakfast was expensive so we did not purchase it.
Location, room, comfortability
расположение и кофе-машина
отсутствие холодильника
Good service, friendly and helpful staff, free coffee and thee all day long, 5 minute walk to Leidseplein and shopping area, decent breakfast (€9,5 pp)
The bed was too soft. Outside noise from traffic and tram, bring earplugs.
2nd time staying here so very satisfied. Basic comfortable accommodation in a good, safe location, good location for walking around Amsterdam.
The room had very poor electric lighting and also poor natural light (Room 215). This made it very difficult to put make up on. The room I had first time 'round was better as it had more natural light.
Good location for visiting museums. Very clean room and well maintained. Staff eager to help. Great to have free tea/coffee in reception.
Nothing!
Tram stop very close. Free coffee great idea and very tasty. Locked luggage storage. Clean, well decorated room, plenty big enough. Nice bathroom. Would stay again.
Could maybe do with a mini-fridge but might be asking too much from a 3* hotel.
I liked the location and the friendliness of the staff, also the layout was compact and inviting. Would stay here again.
Room didn't have a window, but it is a minor point.
Clean and centrally located with a helpful staff.
Nothing it was all good.
New and clean
The breakfast eggs. The desk lamp didn't work. The staff did not show us the room, we did not know how to turn on the lights. Youth hostel type service, impersonal.
Location is good, close to shopping n museums. Safe environment. It doesnt feel like a 3 star given the relatively new look and also a nice cafe with complimentary coffee and tea which i really like. The staff are helpful esp Ajoop
Not much toiletrees provided like body lotion toothbrush etc
The free coffee. Great staff. Very helpful. Good location.
Contemporary design. Great shower. Comfy beds.
Room was very noisy. Right by breakfast room, lift and vending machine. As there is no bar everyone uses vending machine when they return at night. Lift pings all night and they start preparing breakfast around 6am. Also heard a lot of road noise
The availability of coffee and tea in their lobby. Good location . Front desk helpful for providing assistance.
The breakfast could be improved upon
All the facilties were working and the mattress was very comfortable.
The room was very small for the price, thought it was a bit over-priced.
Entire staff very pleasant and helpful
This Hotel is very new and very clean. The staff always helped us. While it is not in the Central city near the train station, you can walk or take a tram or even a taxi for little money. Lots of nice restaurants nearby too.
Nothing. One of the nicest surprises we got in Amsterdam.
Free.wifi Internet.
There was no restaurant in the Hotel and breakfast is not included in fare
friendly staff, cosy beds, great location
Friendly helpful staff Clean Central Good buffet breakfast Free tea and coffee
Room a bit small
Great location, helpful staff and nice to have coffee and tea available round the clock.
Excellent location, on the edge of great shopping areas and close to the Rijksmuseum, canal trips etc. was quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. Coffee was always on tap. A good choice in expensive Amsterdam.
Small but adequate. Beds were very soft and a bit of a roll.
Loved that it was really close to the Fringe activities and shows, shops, easily accessible to trams, busses and other transport, great restaurants. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was my second stay this year and that speaks for itself.
The trams are a little noisy, but it wouldn't stop me staying there again.
The location was excellent. The decor was to my taste The staff were friendly Liked the tea and coffee facilities which were free for use in the lounge
Friendly staff, nice tea and coffee making facilities in the lobby. Rooms were very clean and absolutely perfect for a city break.
In a good location in a safe area but on a busy main road. Modern Hotel with a lovely atmosphere. Near the museum district, near canals & transport links to airport & city centre. Pick a room at the back of Hotel, makes a massive difference. Got the bus from the airport to within a 1/2 mile of Hotel. Plenty of restaurants near the Hotel for snacks & main meals. Had breakfast in the hotel on one occasion & was good value. Would use the Hotel again if the price was right.
The noise in the first headroom we were allocated meant we didn't sleep the first night but luckily a triple was available for subsequent nights. Apart from that we had no complaints
Small but clean and modern designed room, frıendly and gentle staff, excellent locatıon, good breakfast..What else a tourıst wants :)) Free coffee ın the loby was excellent. The hotel ıs ın a safe regıon of the cıty, not far from centre and museums and Dam square, you can go everywhere by walking. You can go from airport to the hotel by bus no 197 directly.I recommend Hotel Espresso everyone who will visit Amsterdam and wants to stay ın a safe hotel wıthout any problem.
NOTHING :D
relaxed atmosphere, felt very safe, good location, comfortable room, very good breakfast, friendly staff
nothing springs to mind
Best location 5/10min walk from all attraction :)
Wonderful welcome on arrival from Veronica on reception, all staff friendly and helpful throughout stay. We got, as requested and very much appreciated, a quiet room at back of hotel on upper floor, spotlessly clean with comfy beds. Fantastic coffee machine plus a box with a wide variety of teas, available free of charge 24 hours a day, what a great idea and fab to have a cuppa whenever we popped back into hotel. Perfect location, 5 minutes walk from Leidesplein and Vondelpark and Museumplein where Van Gogh /Reich museums are.I'd stay there again anytime!
Our standard twin room was extremely small, only room for one chair!
Free coffee anytime you wanted, location in close proximity to Leidseplein and Vondelpark, also bus stop 197 which is crucial if you are using it to get to the hotel/airport, also carrying luggage.
one of the two shower doors was missing!!! we reported to the reception staff the next morning and the response was: "Yes, we know it, in some rooms the doors fell off the shower and we are going to fix it"!!! Although they knew there was a problem, they did not mention it during check in!
Excellent location , friendly staff, comfortable bed. Breakfast good.
Small room
the staff was so helpful, i needed emergency dental work, she found me a hospital to go to..i truly appreciated her sense of urgency in helping me.
Staff, position, coffee and drink available during the whole day
the room assigned...little bit noising because of first floor and on the main road
Hotel staff at the reception were friendly, always cheerful and very helpful. Breakfast was great, and one could enjoy free coffee or tea in the restaurant throughout the day.
Friendly, helpful staff. Room, a tad small (not much space for suitcases) but clean and comfortable. Convenient location to VanGogh and Rijksmuseum (within walking distance), and easy access via Tram #1 to all other sights. Our shower door was fixed within a few hours of reporting it.
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Complimentary bottles of water in the room were much appreciated. Free tea and coffee anytime we liked in the downstairs area was a welcome surprise and made us feel very much at home. The lovely girl at reception even made our 12 year old a hot chocolate. No extra cost. We were able to bring pizzas in to the downstairs area at 10.30pm and it was all very relaxing. The whole atmosphere of this hotel is relaxing and informal, as well as being extremely comfortable and modern. I would highly recommend Hotel Espresso!
The Staff was very friendly and professional. Free coffee machine was incredible, especially at late time. The location is very quite and very well reached by public transportation.
The breakfast was quite poor. The parking is very expensive.
Close to Vondelpark and museum square. Free coffee/tea in the lobby.
