There were many things I liked as you can see from the rating. The staff, in particular, were friendly and very helpful. They provide a great map of the surrounding area. This was my second time staying in Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro, but my first time staying in the dorm. It's a great hotel, very clean, free wifi and they have converters at the front desk for your electronics. It's really close to Ikebukuro station and there's a lot of good restaurants around and staff available 24 hours a day.

We loved the location and being just 2 short blocks from the subway station in the heart of Tokyo. It was very convenient and I would stay there again just because I know what I'm getting. It's definitely not the fanciest of places...but it was clean, had decent amenities, and worked for what we needed. Coffee maker, small fridge, interesting music system, tv. Very small rooms, not alot of space for your luggage, but it's Tokyo and you you don't get a lot of space for this price.

Recommended trips from personal experiences, offered umbrellas on rainy days, helped uncommom requests and even kept me company when I was sitting in the hotel cafe alone one day, chit chatting. Lovely, clean small hotel, with large, bright rooms by Japanese standard. The staff is very helpful and they speak good English. It is located in a nice, quiet environment close to shops, restaurants and about 10 minutes walk from the train station. I loved how friendly and helpful the hotel staff was and how willing they were to assist me in my travels as well as answer my questions and concerns. The room was VERY clean and comfortable and it was a great Japanese cultural experience. It was conveniently located close to 3 subway stops, including the Ikebukuro station. I definitely enjoyed my stay here and if I am ever in Tokyo again, I will be staying here again! I have already recommended the Family Inn Saiko to friends!
