  My wife and I stayed with my elderly mother in the same room. K's House is a chain of hostels in Japan, and I recommend it highly. The only downside is that as a hostel, the rooms are small. But once you know that, the arrangements are great, and the rooms are clean. Right at the front, no shoes are allowed in the building. On the first floor there are a sitting room with free computers, a dining roo - I love everything about the place. Athough the room is really small and compact, everything that you need is available. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bathroom is clean. The staff were great and they were able to communicate well in English. I had a fabulous time there. K's House in Takayama holds a dinner party once a month and I was really lucky to be there on that one day in a month.   Being located at a certain elevation, I enjoyed the nice window view of the city with the mountains at the background. I loved the 50% discount coupon of a nearby hotel quality onsen. I appreciated the shuttle sevice at 9 a.m. heading the town below. I liked the helpfulness of the staff though they seemed to be shy, like a lot of the Japanese. - ... vad folk säger » Nice staff, really friendly people! Its in the outskirts of Takayama, so really peaceful and beautiful place. Though Takayama is rather small. Only about 15-20 min walk from the station. Comfortable beds, curtains around them as well for privacy amd keeping the light out. Beautiful house

  A charming japanese house with a extremely nice family (especially the lady in charge). They even offered us a ride to the next hotel!!!! An authentic experience. We didn't try the food but it smelt lovely. - great staffs and good room condition; what you would expect to see in a traditional ryokan with quiet environment

  the most amazing staff I met, helped us so much. the hotel was very very clean and we even got discounted tickets to an amazing onsen. - Very clean private room and common areas. 15 minutes walking from JR station.
