The location was excellent as we're the staff who were very helpful when I mistakenly threw some travel documentation into the hotel rubbish. They were genuinely happy when it was found. The buffet breakfast was very good. -
Smile Hotel is located just opposite the JR station, bus & tram hub. Only walking distance to the morning fish market.

There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which have bus going to the hakodate ropeway at a sceduled timing. The front desk staff - a lady was very helpful and flexible. The first thing we like is this hotel is very easy to find. Just walk about 2 minutes from JR Station to get there and from there it takes just a minute to the Morning Market. The room is quite old but very neat and tidy. They have a big flat screen TV, green tea, hair dryer, Yukata and Obi set for changing clothes. The staff is very nice although we get here a bit late (8pm). Morerover, they can speak english quite well. I recommend it if you want some place which is good and has reasonable pr

Run by husband and wife, Mori and Yoko, Clydesdale was simply charming. Comfortable rooms, super neat and tidy, and the set dinners are absolutely delicious! 5 courses for Y25,000. Much better option than the overrun resorts just up the street, highly recommend.

A great recommended place to live in.
1. It's a great minshuku suites for backpacker or any travelers planning to visit 網走Abashiri and 知床半島Shiretoko Peninsula （includes 根室Nemuro, 宇登呂Utoro, and 羅臼 Rausu areas）.
2. The house owner is very thoughtful -- he offers all the foods, snacks, and drinks for only 100 yens each. Very cheap and convenient to guests.
Guests may cook in large kitchen also.
3. A large lobby for taking a rest and a nice environment to live.

It was okay to compare with price we pay. We went there during high season so there is a bus stop in front of the pension. If there is no bus, the only way to get there is to take a taxi because it is quite far from JR Furano station.
Good for budget-concerned travellers who just want a night to stay in Furano. -

I arrived late at night, when I arrived the owner (?) of this place was incredibly friendly and even went so far as to carry my extremely heavy luggage up to my room. The room was unusually spacious for Japanese standards, even larger than in most more expensive accomodations I have used in Japan so far, it had everything you need and (important in Japan) a very cozy and soft futon.
