  Everything on the practical side. The 'room' was a small flat, spacious with a large wardrobe. Clean towels, sheets and covers in the closets, a small kitchen, which didn't have any pots and pans, or other kitchen ware, but I borrowed some from the young girl who looks after the rooms. Bathroom, sink and toilet separated into each their space, but it worked well. - I just LOVE the bathroom! There's a modern hi-tech bathtub with which you can press a few buttons and have the water ready at the right temperature and at the right level. It can even keep the water warm! The ventilation system and toliet are also amazing. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and you can take bus to go to sightseeing places.   Everything was great! The room was cozy for the six days Ive stayed in! Icy cold air conditioning! The owner's mother who runs it is absolutely darling! And everything was super clean with wonderful service.   Great value for money. Appreciated the time that the manager took to help plan our visit and to get around, really went above and beyond. Very clean, had what a family needs. Searched a lot of sites for hotels, ryokans for 4 people that didn't break the bank. This had a nice mix of modern and traditional.   Absolute everything! We stayed in the Ayanokoji-bashi for our final night in Kyoto and the place was amazing. We turned up to leave our luggage at their office, but they ended up allowing us to check in at 11am. The whole house was really trendy and comfortable. After going for lunch and exploring Gion, we ended up returning and sitting on the cou... vad folk säger » ches, playing jazz records and just watching the leaves fall into the stream outside our window. I would highly recommend it. It was my favourite plac - The house and the "Kura" or old warehouse have been reformed with taste. The surrounding of the house (japanese garden), the wooden (cypres) bath, the whole of the facilities are amazing. You feel at home but in the Japanese style. It is unforgettable. We will go again. Better stay during the week than week-end (price) but it remains ideal to visit Kyoto. We recommend at least 2 nights to really enjoy the house !

  Although we were a bit disappointed with Kyoto sightseeing (kept getting lost), this place was the best out of all the other hotels and hostels we have stayed at. It came with lots of towels, computer, kitchen (no kitchenware), tv in the bathroom, free laundry (buy your own soap), and instructions on how to use the gadgets around the place (ac, wa... vad folk säger » ter heater, etc.). Since we arrived there an hour early, I was only planning to leave my luggage there before checking in but no one was picking up th - The amount of space was perfect and we didn't feel cramped. The two main beds are up a ladder, which is strange and felt sort of like a clubhouse, but it was unique. When else in my life will I get to act like a kid again, right? The walk was only a few minutes from Kyoto station, which was convenient. I'm not a picky or needy traveler so it was perfect for me. Clean, efficient, comfortable, easily accessible, and we had internet access. What more do you need? All-in-all, it was a great experie

  The people who ran the place were so nice and helpful. They advised me where I should go, what I should do and even gave me a free ride back to the station at the end of my trip. The location is perfectly fine for kyoto as Kyoto works on a bus system not really metro. The family that owned the place were extremely nice and helpful (the husband dropped us off at the station when we checked out in his car) (the wife gave us tips and tricks, pointers where to go and which places to check out), the views are impressive, my boyfriend and I felt thoroughly relaxed staying at their guesthouse, on holiday away from the big city. OK and not too bad for budget travelers and backpackers as long as you don't mind sharing bathrooms (take turns) and no locked doors and interconnected rooms.
