Akrolithos is amazing. It has a nice swimming pool with stunning view to the caldera. Our room -and I think all rooms- had the same view. It is not luxurious, but was refurbished this year and very clean. The breakfast is served by the pool, normally until 11 o'clock, but they were happy to serve it even at 13.00, when we were waking up! Really lovely little country oasis while exploring the island. Heaven to get away from the crowds in Fira & Ia. The staff is very helpful. Maria goes above and beyond. The facilities crisp, clean and useful. Great for small groups and families. Lovely barbeque/sitting out areas, with plunge pools and beautiful sunrises. Minutes to Fira.

We (4 adults and a 2,5 year child) stayed 3 nights at the wonderful Grand Suite with an astonishing view of the lagoon and volcano. Even though it might not be advisable for such a small child due to steep climb to and from the Suite it was still pretty much manageable. Big Cruisers coming in to the lagoon very early in mornings, you could hear a distant honking when leaving late evenings for new wonderful Greek islands. Great staff, Friendly, attentive and warm. Incomparable view, one of the only places you can see both sides of island from. Pool area is amazing and secluded. Even better sunsets than in Oia. Good music, chilled out atmosphere. Good breakfast. A lot of things that make up for small imperfections that the staff is aware of (relatively new management in existing hotel)
