The staff without exception could not do enough to make our stay perfect. Our room was not what I expected and I was told they were fully booked. After 3 nights I checked on letsbookhotel.com and discovered they had a suite available and we were moved. I think it was a misunderstanding and they very kindly did not charge us for the upgrade. I would highly recommend an upgrade to a 'suite' a large room with two sofas. It was fabulous with a wonderful view of the whole harbour. The breakfast on the balcony was excellent with a good selection. It was exceptionally hot so we liked the fact that our room did not get the sun and we had a cool breeze. The position could not have been better.
The only complaint is that the beds are typical of Greece and very hard but the pillows were worse, like concrete. The pillows were new this year fortunately we managed to get some of the old ones, the lumpy ones were much better.
The hotel is situated in old town, one block from the harbor, and is impeccably maintained. We were very well taken care of by Maria, who made us sumptuous breakfasts and offered good advice on sights to see.

The panoramic view of the old port was dreamlike. The genuine hospitality, warmth and sensitivity to the customer's wishes was highly commendable. The antique interior was in harmony with the old city's charm. The breakfast with local specialties was the best beginning to a good day. Overall, a lovely experience.
The wifi signal was rather weak in the rooms.
Hotel is in an excellent location, overlooking the old port in Chania. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, they take great pleasure in ensuring that guests are well looked after. The design and furnishing of the hotel room we had, the Belomondo Suite was excellent, with a lovely balcony overlooking the bay.
Wonderful staff, great room and view. The staff especially Maria and Irini were extremely helpful regarding adjusting our timeframes, making recommendations for where to go, making arrangements for activities. Just engaging with them was a pleasure and added to the enjoyment of our trip
Maria and Eleni, were fantastic: they have fulfiled every wish of us and organised everything in every detail for my partners birthday !! Belmondo is a nice atmospheric hotel with a lot of charm in the old venetian harbour ! We will come back to this hotel very soon !!!

The view over Venetian Harbour was unbeatable. Breakfast was huge and delicious! It was particularly nice as it was served on our balcony. The staff were very friendly, helpful and generous!
This is where to stay on a holiday but still feel at home.we had a big room with sea view,just what we neded to relax with our little baby.the hotel is virtually in the heart of the tourist district with lots of local amenities on your door step owever quiet once you shut the shutters to have a nap. Air conditioned room was a blessing as it can get very hot there in July. Staff at the hotel were very pleasant and accommodating. On our request they catered a more Greek style breakfast which was served in our room. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and would happily book a room there next time I visit chania.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel (Michelangelo room -definitely recommended!). Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is worth mentioning especially.
I have discovered Chania to be a beautiful city, with old town streets to explore, myriad shops and restaurants around a charming harbour. I have also discovered this to be a jewel of a hotel residing about ten metres away from the harbour front. Cool, quiet, comfortable rooms were presented in Venetian style, dark wooden floors, high ceilings, persian rugs underfoot. The Belmondo hotel is small and personal, each room is different, all had character, felt like a rare luxury in the perfect location. Air conditioning was efficient and free of charge, sheets and towels changed regularly, and the location can't be better next to the harbour and within easy walking to the bus station (10mins max) to travel to local beaches or further afield. The icing on the cake (or honey in the baklava) is the landlady Maria, who treats her guests with super Cretan hospitality making all feel very much at home. I would be very happy to recommend this hotel
