  Mr. Sigalas is a wonderful host! He picked us up at the port and drove us to the villa. He had us laughing and feeling like we were part of the family. His two daughters run the reception and they will arrange anything you need. They were able to set up rental cars, restaurant reservations, boat trips, whatever. Every day they greeted us with a sm... vad folk säger » ile and asked what they could do to make our stay even better. The villas are new. They had only been open for 2 years when we stayed there, and Mr S - I liked everything. I have been to Santorini before and the overall standard of accommodation is high at every price level. It is highly competitive too. What makes the Sigal stick out is the unassuming nature of your hosts, all members of the same lovely family who are always cheerful and overtly helpful without straying into the poncey attendant type operation that Santorini seems to have sprouted in abundance.   Good choice for inexpensive accomodation in Santorini. It's a traditional Cycladean island Hotel, run by an nice and helpful family, who welcomed me openly to Santorini. The rooms are simple and clean, with everything necessary. Free internet. Seaviews on both side. It's close to the local Caldera Beach (best beach in Santorini in my opinion) and ... vad folk säger » to the Red Beach. There is a motorbike and atv hire: "Diamantis Team", and this is the best way to go around the island. Or to take a local bus. Bus s - We loved the view and the wonderful owners, they treated us like family and we felt very welcome. They gave us a great car rental deal and all kinds of island information. Great price for the room considering where we were. And they were there to pick us up and drop us off at the port at no additional cost!

As the hotel is somewhat to the south of the caldera you havethe excellent view but are not part of the tourist scene which dominatesthe northern cities.   Sometimes you find a real gem when travelling and Villa Galina is one. Away from overcrowded Thera, this villa is a beautiful and tranquil retreat with a pool to unwind in after a hard day touring, sightseeing, at the beach etc. lovely and quiet at night. Algyro and Nikos are fantastic hosts and couldn't do more for us which included a pick up - I’ve travelled around Europe and this villa is one of the most impressive ones I’ve ever lived in. The owner is really nice and picked up us in the port at 2 am, which we never expected and became a huge surprise. Besides, it provided a luxury breakfast and the owner would clean the whole room quietly after you leave. The sea (Caldera beach) is right under the hotel, however, you should climb down from the rock to the seaside (about 15- min road).
