Olivier was very friendly checking us in. We had booked a lovely room at the back of the hotel, following tips from other reviewers about street noise at the front. If you're going to be in bed at 22.00 or so, this might be an issue, but the street is fairly quiet once the restaurants shut, so I don't think this would really be enough of an issue to stop me staying here again. Tours is a beautiful place to visit and Hotel Colbert is in a wonderful location. There is a very large number of small.
alla recensioner » This is a great little hotel in the heart of Tours. It's an easy less than 10 minute walk from the train station and tourist office. Since I came in by train, I'm not sure about the parking or convenience of driving to the hotel as it is on a small one way, pedestrian type street. The hotel itself is well maintain by what appears to be a husband and wife team...and their cute little black and white mascot. Truly the only 1 change I would make would be like one other reviewer mentioned and that . Perfect stay. Large back room. Quiet. View from the window over the garden included Renaissance mansion. Essential safe in room to keep valuables. Shower worked perfectly. Wide flat television screen. Comfortable double bed. Slept well. Nice continental breakfast, served with friendly conversation from welcoming hotel owners. Even a friendly spaniel. Perfect location in central Tours. Certainly stay at hotel again. Oliviea, the proprietor, was very customer friendly and made the group of us 5 from Asia felt very welcomed. He was helpful, personable and charming, which made our stay memorable. The rooms were tidy and clean, breakfast was a nice home traditional affair - with a soulful really nice dog under the table - and the location of the hotel very central / easy to reach by car. Great hotel! Our triple room was nice and very spacious. Bathroom was clean. Hotel is located on a street with many restaurants and bars. Enjoyed the breakfast offered by the hotel for 7 euros pp. Owner of the hotel was very friendly and helpful in providing recommendations for local restaurants/sightseeing. Would stay here again!. The owner was brilliant. He freely admitted that so far he had only refurbished 12 of the 16 rooms. We had one of he un refurbished rooms but as we were only a one night stay, that was understandable. He appears to be doing he refurbishment to a high standard. He was very friendly and very helpful. My room was large & had a modern bathroom. amazing host, couldnt of done more to help and the rooms are all individually styled, we had a buddha style room, really nice and super comfy bed. There was nothing which I did not like. Nothing to complain!. Would have preferred more light in the room (we sometimes like to read at night) but otherwise no complaints. Nothing. No lift yet ..... Just a detail: 20:00 is a little early to finalize the attendance at the reception, especially in summer, when it gets dark later. There was no one on the reception area after a certain time or no one there very early in the morning. So we did not see any staff at all. So there was no one there to ask for anything if we needed anything. We arrived after staff left and left before staff arrived. We missed a hair-dryer. Tee/coffee & hair-dryer facilities had better would be provided. No secure parking. Inadequate light for reading in the room, no place for soap in shower stall. No elevator. Breakfast was baguette croissant and yogurt for €8-9. If you leave the room after 11:30 am, they do not clean it (this is what their list of rules in the room states and this is what happened when we accidentally left at 11:40 one morning).
