The location was very convenient, the price was fair, the facilities were clean, the second floor bar area was very cosy, the beds were very comfortable and the room had an en-suite bathroom.
Nothing.
Comfiest bunk beds I've slept in. Excellent design of bathroom for dorms
No place to socialise (bar wasn't suffecient) No dryer, and would dry clothes outside, so they would reek of oil and food when you got them back.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The heating had broken on the first night (during winter), although in response the staff gave us an extra duvet and free coffee in the morning.
Friendly atmosphere and staff very helpful. Tours available.
No facilities to take cards for payment.
No wifi in rooms
staff spoke good English and were very helpful
The entertainment in the restaurant bar was too loud made it hard to sleep
The music from Jamaica Blue Bar is too noisy, if your room is on the first floor
Friendly staff, warm atmosphere in the lobby, located in the center of the city.
Location hard to find, no elevators.
Friendly staff, good location, good coffee, great drinks, terrific snacks, clean comfortable room with plenty of space.
A little hard to find, not even the taxi driver could find and had to phone Hantang House for directions.
Staff is very nice and helpful , location is very convenience
A very comfortable hotel and at a great price. Staff is helpful. The only place where bathroom does not stink. Would recommend to friends and family. Even the beds meet American standards.
No elevators.
The hostel was on of the best I stayed, very friendly stuff, spoke good English. They had some nice activities for free (tour to the watershow etc.), and also organised other tours, quite handy. The twin room was a hotel standard. Their coffee was amazing, UK prices though. Also, they had live music at the bar almost every night, a fun place with cheerful guests.
The food and drinks at the bar were way too expensive for a hostel, as I said, UK level.
It was very central to everything. Friendly. Clean and I would stay here again.
We took a private room, which was really comfy, end specially the bed. Great bathroom too! We did the terracotta warriors tour which was great, comfy mini bus there and the right amount of info given.
In the room there were lots of notices about the cost of breaking items in the room-made it feel they were out to rip you off a bit. You can't pay by international credit card, that could have been made clearer on the booking confirmation email so we could have had the cash ready,
Very helpful staff Clean Nice furniture in the rooms Nice private shower in the room
Fantastic hostel! Highly, highly recommended. Very helpful staff, great facilities, the room was clean, comfortable and wonderful. Would definitely stay there again!
Very comfortable and clean hostel, in the middle of the city center near to the Bell tower. Also nice, English speaking personnel who organize day trips and free workshop evenings like learning how to make dumplings. I would surely come back here!
I would advise the hostel to give route directions with the reservation confirmation instead of only the address. Now the route directions were on the map that is provided by the hostel; not of much use anymore then ;)
Helpful staff members + Tidy rooms+seperate bathroom and toilet for dormitory+ excellent location+ nice bars+ rich information+international atmosphere. I would love to stay at Han Tang House again if I have the chance to visit the city again.
Wonderful hostel, I would like to go there again.
Staff is very nice. Life music every day and great atmosphere.
A lot of stairs to go up to the room. Tour to Huashan was a waste of time and money, they took us to a Chinese tour going for a shopping show and stuff. We were supposed to get 7 hours in the mountain and we got less than 3...
Very nice and helpful staff.
Only expensive imported beer in the bar when we were there.
restaurant
steps to 4F
rooms: excelent, clean, each bed have a lamp and electricity exit. location: close from drum tower and muslim tower. tours: good prices for visit terracot army and other places.personal:have a good english. road from railwai station to hotel by taxi 13 yuan's
Staff speaks very good English very friendly helped us to tell the taxi driver from airport to bring us to the hostel
The trip to the Huashan with the hostel, we paid 100rmb for the tranportaton and the tour guide, but the guide was not with us on the bus, and the transportation to the Huashan mountain was more like a promotional trip with a stop in a shop and restaurant and this wasted a lot of time which could have been used for climbing the mountain
A very welll appointed hostel
The price of food and drink was much to high and they did not allow food or drink to be brought in
Great hostel, good service and nice international atmosphere.
Beds were very comfortable -- not usual for China. 5-10 minute walk from Bell Tower and the Muslim Quarter. Breakfast: egg and bacon sandwich was excellent. great tasting bread!
I went with my parents, their room was on the 3rd floor. No elevator, and seemingly more stairs than there should be. Not their fault, but be aware it's impossible to get a taxi anywhere in Xi'an these days. I always had to take those stupid bengbeng che.
I don't always go to Xian, but when I do, I make sure to go to the best hostel. Excellent location, excellent price, excellent staff. Will definetely recommend it to friends
The only bad thing about the hostel was that I had to leave it to go home :(
Surprisingly comfortable regarding bed, bathroom. cafe and bar integrated
Expensive cafe,cake
Warmth & friendliness of staff, convenience of location, good breakfast, comfortable rooms
No elevator to carry ones bags to upper floors; no toileteries, napkins or clothes' lines for drying clothes
Cleanliness. Wifi. Staff familiar with Western preferences. Great food.
Was all good.
the bar at the hostel reception is really ood for socialising and meeting other people. the beds and rooms were really comfortable and spacious with enough room for socialising in the dorms. great location close to everything within xian! recception staff can speak really good english. great food served at the bar.
the bar was very expensive for beer! and the staff would try to deter giving correct advice for how to get to the terracota warriors in an attempt to get you to take the tour. dont - look online!
A great hostel just down the road from their sister hostel. 5-10 minutes walk from the Bell tower and central sights. Very helpful staff and free tours and activities every night arranged by the staff. We did the tour to great goose pagoda with the fountain show which was loads of fun! Good breakfast and reasonably priced food, great bar atmosphere too in the evening with live music. We stayed on the second floor and couldn't hear the bar at all. Some noise from the street but to be expected. A great place to come back to after a long day trip to chill out and have a few beers. Would definitely recommend!
No soap in the bathroom.
great place
Very friendly hotel, good english speaking staff. Offered good value (some for free) tours. Good bar, with fair drink/food prices.
Walls are quite thin so you can easily hear people in the rooms around you. We had a room on the first floor where the music from the bar was heard very loud.
Clean rooms Location Friendly and knowledgeable staff Great food
No elevators for tired legs (but good exercise!)
Goof value for the money.
The truth is the best hostel in Xian. is beautiful in all its aspects. excellent location, have an amazing beer bar, the decor would be like an English pub. Very friendly and young. many foreign tourists and very cool. would stay again and recommend 100%.
has no elevator and had to climb two flights of stairs with luggage
Kindly staff
Nothing !
The location was excellent. Walking distance to city attractions, bus stops & subway station. The hostel environment was very friendly and staff can speak understandable English. Also, it near to muslim restaurant which was quite convenient.
Nothing major to complaint about.
Very modern and clean, friendly staff, nice bar. You can't go wrong with this place.
No toiletries, bring your own. No wifi in the room.
Friendly staff with excellent English (a rare thing in China), good location, nice room with spacious bathroom
Friendly, hospitable, recommended tour guide to terra cotta soldiers excellent.proxcimity to a vibrant historical city centre.
Would not accept overseas credit cards,or money exchange, stairs a bit of a challenge for an older traveller,we are both in our mid 70s .
Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, no traffic noise. It is right in the centre of the city, closed to the Bell Tower (10mins walk), Xi'an railway station (20mins walk) and the city wall. The staff were friendly and helpful.
the breakfast was not so friendly-budget
Good location and excellent value for money
Not internet in the rooms. Ans also poor wifi in the lobby
The staff is awesome, you have free activities every day and the rooms are confortable and clean. The tour to the terracotan army was pretty fine, with no shopping and nice meal included.
The prices of the bar are quite expensive, specially the breakfast.
Good location in the city center, walking distance to Bell Tower. Friendly English speaking staff. Room was spacious and clean.
It is located next to pub, if the door is open, some noice can come to room.
Good central location on a quiet alley. Modern, clean room. Nice cafe/ bar on the ground floor which is good to relax in after a days sightseeing, wifi works well down there. Good, reasonably priced tours on offer.
No wifi in the room.
A great backpacker haven (a welcoming bar area with wifi serving beer on tap, hookahs, and western food) that also provides the comforts and cleanliness of a no frills budget hotel. Location is very central within 15 minutes walking distance to the Bell Tower, subway station, and Muslim Quarter. The staff helped plan our Xi'an visit, while a lot of travel info is also posted in the common areas by the staff previous guests.
The floors in our room weren't the cleanest, but for hostel prices, we can hardly complain. Room lighting is a bit dim; some may be bothered by the absence of an elevator for the 4-storey building.
Everything... :)
