We were all (including our 4 year old) made to feel very welcome and the atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. The room was lovely and very clean. This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in and we would definitely like to return. - Exceptionally friendly and helpful owners, comfortable rooms, excellent food. Very good value.

The personal attention from the staff was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble from when we arrived ( offering to carry the bags etc ) to ensuring the room was O/K for us ( managing to provide the type of room we requested ), to meeting all our needs at breakfast and checking we were happy with our stay there prior to departure. - Excellent

Good space in the room and bathroom. Good bed, with blanket rather than duvet. Good selection of furniture. Good dining room and good breakfast. It was all good. - the staff so very friendly and helpfull, rooms are being redecorated and look super, the beds so big and comfortable, brilliant nights sleep

Parking was easy. They don't have a car park but there is 1 hour parking in front of the hotel and you can buy one or more tickets for 24 hour parking on the street: £1 per day.
The staff were very helpful. For example, they were happy to put our mountain bikes in their conference room overnight, to avoid leaving them in our car.
The full English breakfast was very high quality.
Overall, we felt we'd had a better experience at a lower price than we'd have had at their Nationally-known compet

All I can say is that if you want to be treated like the only one at the hotel, The Grand is the place to go. The staff are excellent in all respects. Beds/pillows wonderful. Lots of towels in the bathroom. Spa - fab. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - a must. What more could you ask for - nothing.

I found the Hotel in general excellent value, there was just one 'niggle', that was, the mattress buttons were held in place by small metal or maybe plastic pins, and as there was no mattress cover these tended to stick into ones back, and were impossible to avoid, apart from this, I enjoyed my stay and would certainly go back again.

the kindness shown to my Mother of 93 and myself was excellent.The cleanleness of this hotel was the best I have ever had maybe cleaner than my own home.I would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a small hotel. - The breakfasts were excellent! Excellent standard of hotel and staff. They kindly upgraded me to a double room with a great view for no extra charge without me asking. Restaurant dinner was excellent and good portions. Very pleasant stay and would visit again. - Size of room, choice and value of meals, comfort of public rooms. The staff were most helpful at all times.
