I have had many happy holidays with my husband and son at the Fariones and latterly with my daughter, her husband and my grand daughter. Now that I am on my own I felt I would be at ease at this hotel and this proved to be the case.,

I find getting in and out of the pool very difficult, I also miss not having a fridge in the room.,and I do not like the coathangers!

I love the fact it is a small hotel, that puts its guests needs first. I love the food.

This is an amazing hotel - the private beach is gorgeous, water very clean and all grounds very well maintained. Beautiful palm trees that light at night. Tropical beer in bar lovely and refreshingly cold! Breakfast is a huge buffet with egg station, chef makes eggs all ways! Beautiful views while having breakfast. Central location near shopping centre, old town and new town. Taxi rank right outside hotel makes it great ease of transport. Ten minutes from airport 14euro by taxi!! Crazy golf on site free too

Rooms a tiny dated but very clean and lovely balcony with views! Nice size and fridge in room too. Nothing bad to say about this place!

I liked the great location the private beach and the tropical gardens.the breakfast was very good with a great selection of all types of food the staff were also very helpful and efficient.

The location:the beach, the pool, sunbathing terrace and gardens.

Getting up before 7.00am to reserve sunbeds and umbrella. The very grumpy bar staff. The unfriendly staff in general. No-one ever greeted us with a smile or pleasant word except the ladies who cleaned the rooms.

This hotel was so relaxing bedroom had a wonderful sea view and a large balcony we awoke to the sound of the waves each morning fantastic food and the staff were excellent cant wait to go back

disappointed to find all sunbeds covered with towels early each morning and being unable to sit at the pool

I loved the location of the hotel overlooking the Ocean & also very central for shopping & eating out ect. The food was of a high standard & the staff were very friendly.

The bedrooms were basic but very clean & had a power shower in the bathroom. I thought the bed wasn't very comfortable.

Ideal location between new and old towns. Friendly Staff. Lovely beach in nice cove. Grounds very well laid out with plenty of terraces for relaxing, many away from the pool to avoid pool noise.Oh yes, omelette chef lovely man made nice ones.

Not too happy with breakfast arrangments ie layout of different food locations lots of walking from A to B. Sausages ugh. awful stuff. Mushrooms only available one morning a week. other than that, acceptable

Decor in corridors i.e carpets needs replacing & updating. Guests Putting Towels on Sun Beds at 7am but then going out for excusions shopping etc and no one else dare remove towels of the sunbeds as not being used until 2 in the afternoon .

The hotel is beautifully kept. The grounds are cleaned and groomed every morning. There is a large and small pool and a small semi private beach. The final touch are the beautiful cats and birds.

The beach is small and it is a pity it cannot be private to hotel only, but apparently that is against the law.

I loved the location, great beach, lovely for swimming. Great breakfast, lots of variety. Also lovely views from my room. Very clean.

I thought some things were a bit dated, for example the pictures on the walls. I think maybe commission a local artist to paint the views from the hotel and paintings of the gardens would be lovely.

We have been guests in the Fariones numerous times and always enjoy our stay.

The hotel in general badly needs an overhaul. The carpets are very grotty and dated. And for 7 years I have recommended an iron for each room and a kettle as standard. Notwithstanding all this I will be back hopefully.

So what if the furniture is a bit dated in the rooms? The place is spotless. The service is fantastic. The people are great. The location may be the best on Lanzarote, and the price is right. I will definitely stay again. As long as you can do without air conditioning (and with balconies and sea breezes it's not that hard), this is a fantastic hotel. Great breakfast, too!

We liked the grounds of the hotel and the way they were laid out. Lots of little areas in which to relax on sunloungers etc. Particularly liked the little cove when it wasnt breezy. Hotel was a bit dated but very clean and staff were pleasant in the main - one person in particular stood out - Lito on reception who was extremely professional, helpful and always good humoured. Breakfast & dinner were reasonably good though there were occasions when the staff very obviously wanted us to eat and run!

The area of Puerto del Carmen Old Town was very disappointing - rather tacky with very few shopping facilities & not very many good restaurants. The latter in the main were very ordinary with just one or two exceptions. Far too many Irish pubs for our liking but people seemed to like them!As an Irish person I do not understand why you would want to go to an Irish pub when in a Spanish resort!

Didn't service room one day even though reminded staff at reception at 5 o'clock .no apology just shrug of shoulder Negative response to request for late checkout. . Repeat custom got no recognition ...twice a year for past 2 years and numerous visits going back 20 years with extended family .

the whole ambience was lovely and so relaxing. Nice music played at a low level on the bar terrace, very comfortable.

I enjoyed my stay at Los Faroines and found the staff very pleasant I would stay. Again if I came to Lanzarote. We also had fab weather.

The only little moan I have is that whilst I was at Los Faroines my son brought a lounger on to the beach as I had a torn cartilage and could not get down. Although I realise if everyone did this it would be difficult, however when one of the guests reported it the guy from the hotel was quite aggressive and we took the lounger back straight away,as the loungers by the pool were taken and most the time no one sat there. Never mind I'm over it.

Evening dining at the hotel is way overpriced - 7euro for an insipid toasted sandwich in the hotel bar or 24euro for a basic buffet meal in the restaurant. Eat out!!!

The location and beech view was good.

Rooms not secure Many doors had damage, I was able to get into my room with a credit card. The charge for the safe is expensive but you need it as anyone can break in !

The hotel was old school quite . The hotel rooms need modernisation Mini bar to be added to the room along with tea making facilities not having to ask for a Kettle .

Outdoor area is very secluded and surprising given the hotels on street central location.

The hotel is very dated, tatty and about 10 years past an overhaul. Undeserving of it's four star rating.
