We stayed three nights at B.I.G. in one of the worst downpours, with
hail, seen by Cape Town in years. This managed to mess up our plans....
But due to Amilion, Linda, Tulua, and Amy, we were able to have a
wonderful time anyway. When we first arrived, Amilion (spelling?)
suggested we go immediately to see Kirstenbosh due to the pending bad

We were welcomed with a traditional South African braii - barbecue! How much better can you get to meet everyone and get comfortable with the Cape Town groove?! We loved the staff - from the owner to the housekeepers - they really took good care of us while allowing us to still enjoy the "backpacker-style" of lodging. They helped us plan our days to use our time and $$ so we could get to do all the things we hoped to enjoy in our 5 nights stay. The Dave Matthews Band concert brought us 8,000

Clean, comfortable, well kitted out rooms in a great area of Cape Town. Easy walk to the waterfront. Very accommodating given I was unwell during my stay. Free parking right outside. Excellent value for money.

I have stayed for over a month, and have extended my stay for two months more. Staff are extremely helpful and kind. clean facilities, comfortable beds, hot and clean showers and toilets, amazing chill out pool area, nice bar!!!
Easy walk into town and waterfront! Peaceful and quiet surroundings, but literally a minute walk to bars and restaurants

I loved the staff, they were all friendly and helpful :) The backpackers is located very well, very close to all amneties. I met great friends in my dorm, they were very considerate and great to hang with:) I will recommend the place to anyone visiting Cape Town. It was a great place and lovely vibe.

On arrival we were welcomed by friendly and efficient staff. Our "dorm" room was a welcome surprise, the bedding was crisp and clean, the bed was invitingly comfortable. A lot more than what we expected, there were enough plugs and adapters even. Breakfast was the cherrie on top. The kitchen staff were accommodating and although it was a continental breakfast, special effort was made and we had freshly prepared fruit salad and savoury muffins as an addition. Overall I would recommend it ANYTIMe

The backpack was a really comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The common areas were laid back & relaxed and the place was very clean. Location was great & just a short walk from the top of Long Street and some good restaurants. Waterfront was a decent walk or a fairly quick taxi ride. We stayed here based in recomendations & were

It was my second time at this hostel and I came back three years later because I liked it. Apart from it being excellent for what is officially a backpackers place I really appreciate the attitude of owners and staff who are supporting community projects and take recycling seriously, something that is still not very wide spread in South Africa. Excellent Sandwiches and breakfast.

Nice staff, free coffee and tea, nice room, clean and confortable facilities and halls, chairs and books to relax. The fact that the hostel is no smoking is a very good point! A lot of useful information about day trips and tours. -
Great facilities such as kitchen, dining/tv area and roof top bar. Bathrooms were cleaned frequently.
