Awesome location, just steps away from the subway station and various bus stops. The rooms are quite large compared to a typical Japanese hotel, our room had a neat sliding wall dividing the bedroom from the living room. Lots of channels available on the TV and free wifi! The hotel is close to some fast food places as well, McDonalds and a chain curry house were around the corner. A 7-11 is located across the street. About a 15 minute walk from the main Shopping strip. Laundry room is located in the basement. Staff was friendly and provided maps of the area.

The small kitchen provided us with the basic cooking utensils to make hearty breakfasts to start every day during the period we stayed in the hotel.

The wifi sometimes was weak and slow.

This hotel is excellent value, providing a mini-suite, instead of just a bedroom, for an excellent price. Well-located, right on the subway, one stop from Kyoto Station and walking distance to the main shopping area and Nishiki Market. The front desk staff are particularly attentive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Good quality wifi. Well equipped for light cooking and eating in room (love the microwave) In-house washer & dryer (although better dryers would made me happier) 7-eleven is just across the street and a couples of restaurant in the same block Very close to subway entrance (Gojo)

A bit far from Kyoto station (for walking) one or two buses pass the hotel (with longer wait) since bus ride is preferred for most Kyoto attractions

Large suite, especially for Japan. Loved the convenience of a super market nearby and a galley kitchen with all the amenities. TV had CNN and BBC in English. Would stay there again.

the rooms were very clean and the cleaning staff very polite! facilities were fine and the beds and pillows comfortable.

we stayed in a front facing room and there was traffic noise late at night, mainly emergency vehicles with sirens. the desk staff were a bit snooty! entrance lobby is too dark!

The hotel location is very close to subway and bus station. There is a kitchen inside the room and you can buy food to cook from the convenient store and 24hr supermarket next to hotel. Hotel staff speaks good English and provided well/nice service. I am satisfied with the quality of the room and service they provided. I had wonderful experience in this hotel.

The room was a good size compared to hotel rooms and every room had it own WiFi which worked very well. It was very clean and the staff were helpful.

A little bit away from the station and the main shopping area but once you master the subway and buses it is easy.

Everything you could need during your stay in Kyoto was provided. They cleaned the room everyday and so thoroughly. It's so close to Kyoto station, but not so close that you'd have to put up with a lot of noise from the traffic. The location is convenient, the staff are wonderful without encroaching too much on privacy. We especially loved the mini kitchen, since we could cook and heat food up. Definitely saved us a lot of money. The staff also called a taxi for us after we had already checked out. Then there's the adorable little crane when we checked in. Overall, a wonderful hotel. Would stay there again. Definitely.

Not much of an issue I guess, since there were three of us using a room for two so we had to order and extra bed, so there was a small problem with space. Otherwise, that's it.

We stayed at both the Kyoto and Tokyo residences. In both instances, the service, amenities, location, and cleanliness exceeded out expectations. I would certainly stay here again during my next visit to Japan.

The staff were extremely friendly and always said hello to us whenever we left for the day and when we arrived back again. They were extremely helpful in advising us of which buses and trains to catch to different temples. The hotel is literally right outside a train station so you don't need to worry about walking far to get anywhere. And there is an ATM across the street which was very convenient. The rooms were nice and modern and very comfortable. No complaints.

The only bad thing about this hotel was the laundry facilities. Every night you had to queue up just to use the washing machine or dryer. They definitely need to install a few more washing machines!

The whole hotel/apartment was a very pleasant experience from the moment you arrived entrance is extremely pleasant. Overall the hotel is very clean and well maintained. Staff service was excellent. The rooms are spacious and well fitted out, the kitchen has all you need and very well equipped. It is in a great location highly recommended would stay int his groups hotel again if all places are like this.

Friendly and very helpful English speaking staff.

Room allocation was very bad - window facing another building wall even thought my booking was close to a year ago and request submitted during booking. Very bad planning on the hotel. Luckly, one room availble to upgrade with extra cost or else I need to move to another hotel and will upset my holiday.

This hotel provided everything that we needed whilst on holiday in a city where we could not speak the language. The laundry in the basement was excellent and enabled us to wash some clothes at Avery cheap rate and the provision of a good breakfast at a very reasonable price was also very much appreciated. At no other hotel in Japan were there laundry facilities and coin laundries were very difficult to find. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the rooms a good size.

It is an ideal place for business travel. It is very close to subway exit yet maintrains quite environment to stay after full day meeting. Kitchen is also a plus to travelers.

Lighting at the lobby needs improvement as well as that along the entrance hall way. It can be lighted up a little bit more.

My son and I visited Kyoto and we were delighted about the services at the Citadines. I would like to come back in April and I am now on the waiting list for a 6 days stay from April 11th to April 16th 2014. I hope I will be able to have a studio again and look forward to be able to stay again. all amenities were excellent and the staff was very helpful.

Very friendly and efficient staff, extremely clean (thanks mrs Fujita!) and very well located to visit the city and taking the trains from kyoto central station. the subway station is 1 min walking distance from the hotel and pontocho is 15 mins walking too. thanks for this wonderful stay! will come back soon!

Decor of hotel was very 'zen'. Not too far from Kyoto rail station and restaurants plus some tourist attractions not too far away. There's a bike hire place that's close too, which was recommended by one of the staff.

Apartment was a little cramped if you were to be staying for more than a few days.
