The beds were comfortable and the showers were excellent. The staff were of great service when our keys were locked in the boot of our car. They had someone on site within 15 minutes to do the job at a very reasonable cost - we were on the road with very little delay. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood. Our reason for wanting a base at L'Oree des Bois was that we wanted to look at Romanesque churches in the area (St.Savin &c), so our reasons do not fit into your catagories listed above.

The best thing was my room; the balcony overlooking the square was wonderful. I also liked being able to walk to the hotel from the station and then to be able to get to all parts of the city centre on foot (it was right next door to the City Hall where I had meetings on two days). -

The hotel is built out of a decommissioned (?) church and some of the
rooms (on the upper floors) have glorious architecture. I also had a
minor medical emergency one night and the front desk clerk, Luc Querite,
looked after my needs and called a doctor for me. His calm demeanor and

Also, the hotel is situated right next to the shopping/restaurant
district, and the train station. Perfect location. -
Poitiers is a really attractive city with lots of pedestrianised streets, lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Varied and interesting architecture, churches and a huge cathedral. Students had left for the summer so the city was quiet. We were the only visitors in the cathedral! Parking nearby at only €5 per night. Very good advice from receptionist on restaurant choices. Bistro de Boucher fabulous.

The staff could not have been more helpful. I booked a comfort double
and a disability room for my Mother who uses a wheelchair and both were
to a very high standard. The car parking worked very well .The hotel is
positioned within 150 yards of a fine selection of restaurants and bars

The staff were friendly and helpful and the location of this hotel was
very close to the main center of Poitier. The rooms were spacious and
the beds comfortable. The hotel had a garden and sitting room with
computer access for guest use. The hotel has retained some historic
features, especially in the dining room, which adds to the ambience.

The decoration and comfort were excellent. Breakfast was fresh and well presented. The staff organised a taxi and wake-up call perfectly on time. -

Our Hostess was very friendly and had a lovely continental breakfast for us, as well she had made a tasty almond biscuit that went nicely with the coffee.
