  I went here with a friend for the Carnival and was extremely please by the friendly and helpfulness of staff, and the great atmosphere that this place had.   The location is just perfect. It is right in the center of the old city center (upper city). A perfect location to explore Salvador. The area the hotel is in is newly renovated and is safe to walk around freely during days and nights. Staff speaks really good English and are extremely helpful. The staff are among the nicest, most helpful and accommodating I've found in all my travelling. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, the bed could have slept 4 people! The location of the hotel was great for tourists, shopping (although touristy shopping mostly) and taxis were abundant and within a 1 minute walk. Good restaurants were plentiful within walking distance as well.

The facilities are certainly a bit spartan, but the staff are overly friendly, speak many languages, and they assist you and advise you on all matters. Even though accommodation reflected the historic nature of the buildings and area (basic and old fashioned) it added to the feel of being in an historic, authentic location. We had a room which adjoined a communal terrace with fantastic sea views and ideal for enjoying a late night drink.

  The manager was very friendly and helpful. The location is good, away from the central bustle and noise of central Pelourinho but near enough to fall part of it.
