We booked a room at London city suites but they kindly upgraded us to the Montcalm hotel which had great facilities and amazing friendly staff. When we entered the Montcalm hotel, we were informed that we had been upgraded again to a family suite which had a lounge area, a comfortable bed and 2 bathrooms. Very happy with this, it was a wonderful place.

Hotel is supposedly 5-start, and certainly looks it, but could improve in various (simple!) ways: - Our room door slammed when other people opened and closed their doors, waking you up unnecessary early - Shower poorly designed: You couldn't turn it on without getting soaked with ice cold water from the overhead showerhead - Very noisy A/C. - Extremely hard pillows - Too few hangers and hooks

5* hotel located northly in 'the city', at junction east end - city - soho. This is a nice location, especially if you like to visit London a bit atypically. Because of the location it's actually quite a lot cheaper than a comparable hotel in Westminster / Mayfair / Chelsea. I can't think of any other reason. Good service, really friendly staff, rooms were perfect and serviced twice a day.

Nothing really. * This is not the perfect hotel if you want to be within walking distance of the most popular tourist attractions located in Westminster etc.

There was a disaster on the first morning - at 6:45 water started pouring through my bathroom ceiling but the staff moved me to another room and upgraded my package to make up for the inconvenience caused.

The location of the hotel was on a busy road and the traffic noise was constant but that's unavoidable in London and its location in terms of where I needed to be was excellent.

Breakfast not included. Single room was tiny - a 3 digit price for a single bed and a piece of carpet really, however expensive that small piece of carpet was. Wifi was slow.

The bed was very comfortable and was a very nice room. We havnt been away without the children for a long time and this was lovely.

The shower was a nightmare. Very poor considering the rest of the room standard. Very poor in what was a lovely room.

Some street traffic noice early in the night but overall very quiet. Nice touch with bottle of water and selection of fruit. Good location as it was close to where I was attending a course. Cinema just next to the hotel and two restaurants belonging to the hotel across the street.

Pillows not that comfortable. Didn't enjoy sitting at the pass in the Jugged Hare the first night being a female dining alone and having to sit on a high stool while dining as they didn't have tables available but not all tables were occupied.

Amazing service, lovely room and very friendly staff. We had problem with connecting iPad to TV, member of staff was there in no time and sorted it out.

reception staff were prompt, nice bathroom, very clean. Nice fruit and amenities in the room.

Room size not great, pre-reservation money is taking far too long to be allocated back to me, the bed was not superior in size, shower wasn't easy to make colder, shower above bath not easy when 183cm tall.

The room is small for single. Shower/ Bath Tub is small. No free daily bottled drinking water provided. The hotel is like a maze, its hard to navigate. I'm always missing my way back to my room and going to the reception, restaurants. So confusing.

Service from all front of house staff was exceptional from the moment we were spotted by a porter a bit lost on arrival through to a birthday cake in the room (it was a 60th celebration weekend) , organising taxis,returning stuff left in safe all of us in our party were really impressed.

the rain style shower head in room 118 would be a lovely feature, if usable. Unfortunately it poured over the edge of the shower guard which had a huge gap between the partitions anyway. It flooded the bathroom whenever we took a shower.

Only a short walk from Barbican underground. Staff were always friendly, welcoming and more than willing to help. Loved the 24 hour weather forecast left on the bed! The hotel's umbrella came in handy too.

The wonderful Staff, the whole place is very clean and the value of the suite I totally recommend staying at this hotel. Moreover mr Elias was a very professional in all aspects. I will restay next time with them and I'll also get WOW suite.

The room location was a little tricky I would recommend an clever IT system for the guidness internally . RF tags will do it.

It was my partner's birthday. i told the hotel, they upgraded us an we had a fantastic time, we especially loved the club room. Thank you. we will most certainly be back

The service from start to finish was first class, the rooms were as to be expected from 5 star accommodation. Concierge was helpful & cheerful , reception team were helpful & cheerful. I feel a congratulations is in order as it is not often that a hotel gets it just right.

The staff were very helpful and friendly welcoming. They made sure everything was to our liking the first room we had was excellent the bed was so comfy. Cleanliness was exceptional. When asked to change rooms we were moved within 15 mins .

The second room we had was at the back of the house and due to the constant hum of an air conditioning unit outside I had bet little sleep.

Excellent - although we were across the road in the sister hotel Montcalm at The Brewery
