The apartment was very spacious, comfortable and cosy. It is welle situated, from 1mm to the famous Istiklal avenue, where there is plenty of restaurants, shops, and 10 mm from the Taksim place. Akova, the hotel manager was very kind and helpfull. For our return in Istanul, we will choice this place again :). Staff were brilliant in liaising with us pre trip and providing instructions in Turkish to help taxis find the place. Brilliant 'local' location in an up and coming area off the main Ishkital street. Loads of good restaurants and bars nearby.
todos opiniões » Alvera is a small hotel located near important visiting locations in 5-10 minutes walking distance. Meltem, the hotel manager, was really great and cooperative. We will definitely come back. The room facilities are new and good. There's a kitchen in the room so that we can cook, which is nice. The staffs are helpful, although their English level needs to be improved. Clean, modern room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location for restaurants and bars. Short walk to tram and easy access to sights. Good welcome and the location is perfect in Istanbul. Everything is clean and you can take make your breakfast in your room. Rooms are nicely finished and clean. Great location but near a bar street so at times a little loud. We stayed comfortably. The actual side street where the hotel is located on looks a little shabby but you get over that when you discover the area and see that it's actually quite cool. If you are looking for a big hotel with Gym, Pool, Breakfast and Parking Lot, it is not your option. The lift in the hotel seems dangerous. The location is near Taksim square but not convenient to go to the old city centre. Not that much space for 3 or more. Not easy to find. Some noise from night entertainment. Not much of a view of Istanbul. The suite of the last level can be noisy at night if you keep the AC on. The pictures on letsbookhotel.com are very deceiving! The rooms are a lot smaller. Originally we had the mini suite but it was smaller than my bathroom! They changed our room without a problem! Room floor was old wood slats and very dirty. Rooms were nicely finished but this spoiled it!. - Small rooms. noise at the weekend's nights. 2 Out of 4 nights loud music from 2 to 4. - very small room - wasn't clear from letsbookhotel.com that isn't really a hotel. So there are no hotel services and the hotel's receptionist leaves at about 9 pm. You are given a key that opens the building's door at night. -difficult to find as there is no name board on the building, you have to call the hotel person for directions. -no a/c in the bedroom... have to put the a/c on in the kitchen and leave the room door open. -lane is a bit shabby and dirty -pictures on the booking sites are only of the suites, not the normal rooms. No microwave, staff was not there during check-out, the room charge showed up on my credit card as a different vendor for each night, neither said anything close to Alvera. Sheets were not changed daily and this was not mentioned when booking. WiFi was very weak, had to sit in hall to get signal. Not a single English channel on the TV.
