  The ambiance, the rooms, the owners and the staff were all lovely. The gardens are beautifully designed, and so are the rooms. Breakfast was a feast. Highly recommended. - Lovely accommodation in the centre if Franschoeck. Warm and welcoming owners and staff. Extraordinary breakfast, a real feast. Amazing bathrooms.

  Justin and Caine were the most amazing hosts looking after our every need. The warm welcome, the incredible bedroom, the grounds, the outdoor hot tub, the huge lounge and discrete bar area which allows you to unwind having explored the beautiful surrounding area. The service was without fault. We left incredibly early on our departure day and Justin - Staff friendliness and willingness to assist in any way was outstanding. Breakfasts were varied and tailored to all of our needs. The privacy and space in our family suite was excellent with a child. It felt like a home away from home. The hosts willingness to assist and recommendations for day trips, restaurants, and spas was great!

The house was lovely and the garden was beautiful with two swimming pools and lots of nooks and crannies to sit in peace. Our room was huge with a spacious bathroom and a great four poster bed you had to climb up into. Wolfgang did the best breakfasts we had in South Africa - not only was the food very tasty but it was all beautifully presented. The two dogs were very friendly and Christina and Wolfgang were the perfect hosts.

  My wife and I spent five nights at the Akademie. We stayed in Ooirtgung Cottage (spelling probably not correct) which has a lot of history and is very charming; slightly secluded from the main house and other cottages it was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic; plentiful (need to diet now) and a real treat.   The location was perfect for us - in the town and in walking distance to shops and recommended restaurants. The room was lovely with an outlook onto the garden. Staff were very friendly and helpful, gave us suggestions on what we could do in our very limited time in Franshhoek ( we only stayed one night). Breakfast was great even tried hard to get... o que as pessoas dizem » me gluten free food etc.This was definitely a place we will come back to for a longer stay next time we're in South Africa so we can explore the area - We were looked after by James and Pat who were both very friendly and helpful. On arrival we were given an upgraded room which was very clean and tidy with a very large bed! The house was very interesting with an old colonial feel. It is in a secluded spot, very peaceful but within easy walking distance to the town which is very beautiful. We only stayed 1 night but could easily have stayed longer. We will be recommending Maison Chablis to our friends and family. Sue & Roger. Brentwood. UK

  Wonderfully warm welcome from Sharon our host. Fabulous large bedroom and big bathroom. All so beautifully done. Close to the high street and the wonderful selection of restaurants that Franschhoek has to offer. Nothing too much of a problem....Sharon even took some laundry to try and get it dry cleaned for me. Staff were very good and helpful,especially Lisa and Wellington who worked tirelessly to maintain the amazing pristine condition.   It's a five minute walk up to all the restaurants and from where the wine tram departs, perfect. It is really small but with Real quality and attention to detail. The public areas and our room were beautiful. Guest care is great too; they'll book restaurant tables for you, recommend/explain the styles of cuisine etc etc. - The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located. The staff was friendly and always helpful. We enjoyed the stay so much that we booked two extra nights.The manager recommended restaurants, trips etc. We couldn't ask for a better stay and hospitality. We felt very spoiled and will definitely return.
