Compared with the 2 other ryads we stayed in, this one was just fair. The rooms are on 4 stories and a 5th to get to the roof breakfast area. Owner smokes inside, not particularly helpful with information and there is no one there who speaks English. Only French. Toilet seat off its hinges WiFy not working, although repairman came next day..

We loved everything about Riad Lyon-Mogador. The hotel is beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style, every room has a different theme. The best time of the day was when we had breakfast on the rooftop with a breathtaking view on the city and the Atlantic ocean. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful and we really felt at home. Can't wait to visit Essaouira and our favourite riad again!
Friendly and welcoming owners, excellent breakfast on highest roof top terrace in the area, excellent location off a main shopping street but close to the sea and city wall. Lovely interior decor. We upgraded the room as the standard double was a very small room at the top which felt damp.
Sheets on bed felt slight damp but this is common by the sea. NB.No a/c but it wasn't needed.
The best stay so far in Morocco. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got a very warm welcome when we arrived and were treated with the best moroccan hospitality along with the very informal info session. the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The breakfast in the morning was the finest I've ever had in any hotel anywhere in the world so far as it had a very personal touch. You have to experience it to know it. The excellent rooftop terrace combined with the sound of the sea at night added to the experience. I would definately come back again and for future travellers, please choose this without any hesitation.
Excellent staff and friendly, helpful owners. Dedicated children's room in addition to excellent breakfast on the terrace made for a memorable experience.
Small amount of street noise, however is too be expected staying in a traditional Riad located in the medina. Far outweighed by the positives.
Lyon mogador is a wonderful place to stay! The breakfast is just genial. The baths were huge Md great to relax in. Hosts are brilliant. I highly recommend it.
Shower has not much pressure in the 3rd floor room.

This is a stylish, very clean place in a convenient location. The owners were extremely friendly, helpful and organized. They gave me all the information I needed at front, and they were always available to answer any additional questions I had. The room was very nice, too. Spacious for a single room, so I was able to relax very well. Thanks to the wonderful owners and this wonderful riad, I really enjoyed my time in Essaouira. Also, their breakfast was fantastic!!!
Friendly helpful staff, good location, nice decoration. great breakfast. the roof terrace has wonderful panoramic ocean views, worth the price of admission.
Towels were a little old and tired. Doors to bathroom don’t provide privacy. The riad is on an out of the way street, from one direction down a covered alley, a bit funky at night.

I have spent four days in this riad and I definitly recommend it: rooms were perfectly clean, breakfasts were varied and generous, and hosts were really nice and always available to give us good advice. The good think is that it is located in the center of the Medina but in a very quiet street, so that you can recharge your batteries in the best conditions. The big rooftop with a sea view was also much appreciated to relax... An excellent place for a break!

We didn't like the room, it was small and smelled mouldy. We should have taken one of the bigger rooms which have windows to the outside.

The owners of this Riad were very friendly and helpful but without being intrusive or overbearing. The building was really nice and the room I stayed in was clean, comfortable and very stylish, with an impressive bathroom. The roof terrace has beautiful panoramic views over the town and out to the ocean, with tables and sun loungers. The breakfast provided on the terrace each morning was excellent and served with a smile.

These guys simply do an excellent job! They go out of their way to explain everything (in English!) and made our stay in Essaouira absolutely delightful. They provided a baby bed and extra beach towels for us. The riad is clean, classy, and comfortable. Breakfast on the rooftop was delightful! Our two-year-old was super excited about the room full of kids toys. There need to be more places like this in the world!
