  Amazing experience staying in this 350 years old thatched cottage. The owners are very welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast are hearty and tasty. It was a great experience having our meals sitting around the open hearth. The host gave us a brief history about the farmhouse and the local culture. These all added to the experience. It is not overwhelmed by tourists as shirakawa-go. - Accomodation was traditional Japanese with futons on the floor we slept very well, the food was excellent (typical Japanese food served with all guests sat together around a fire). the host was lovely but it was very difficult as we didn't speak any Japanese and the host and other guests didn't speak much English. Over all it was a fantastic experience but a little expensive when you also consider all the bus travel to get to the village.

  We loved our stay at Choyomon because we had the opportunity to find out the traditional Japanese style. Eating at the floor was a great experience, too painful to my legs but I think it was part of the trip. An old women of the staff brought a little chair on the breakfast and I really appreciated it. She also sent us to the bus stop which was a quite a walk away. Was a really nice experience for us.
