  Nice hotel. We had an amazing view. It's old, it's Italian, don't have the highest expectations. AC didn't get cool in our room, but it's was around 75F so not too bad. Parking is really minimal. I drive and SUV, parked it on the ramp and left the keys. The hotel staff moved around the vehicle and parked it.   Very nice stay. Great breakfast, most of it home made and fresh. Owner is very friendly, caring, educated and hospitable. No problem getting there. Ispica is interesting for the cava d'Isp - Very eclectic and modern design, the room was very comfortable with lots of storage space and high end shower and bath soaps. The location is rural and very peaceful, the grounds are beautiful, the breakfast was a delicious mix of local dishes and fresh fruit. The lady in charge was very graceful and helpful. I would describe the Balarte as the Gugenheim in the middle on the Scicilian countryside !

  I thought this was a great hotel. The room and bathroom were lovely, especially the bathroom where the modern fixtures were super and the capacious shower a real treat. The staff were tremendous: helpful and very friendly. The hotel is on a beautiful little piazza, and there are a couple really good trattoria really close by. We had an upgrade to a lovely spacious room with two balconies from which we could look out over the old town with the swifts flying over the roof tops.   Charming, helpful owners. Castellamare del Golfo is a good base for visiting North West Sicily. The scenery in the area is beautiful. The town is not far from Palermo airport and the autostrada does not have much traffic. - Great place, perfect location and very friendly staff!! Recommended to everybody!!
