O que as pessoas dizem
Amazing place with a beautiful view of Salzburg. It is close to the historical centre but in the middle of nature at the same time. Rooms are very simple with bunk beds so it is really just for sleeping. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Breakfast, which is included in the price, was surprisingly good and rich - buffet style. Downstairs, there is a cosy restaurant during the day so you can have lunch/dinner there. Staff is nice. Generally, the best service for the price!!. todos opiniões »
The location of the hostel is just great: the view from the mountain
top, where the hostel is situated, is breath-taking, in fakt, you can
see all the sights at once. The staff is friendly and affable. Breakfast
is good, especially, if you are taking it front of the panorama-window
in the common area.
Beautiful location up on the hilltop in the forest overlooking the city, very clean and comfortable rooms, nice breakfast on a terrace with a great view. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at, in any country.
It is run by a really nice old couple and it has got an antique feeling about it...It feels like you're living in an old movie! Also, we had the most beautiful view over Salzburg! Oh, and breakfast was great!.
The view of the city from this location - the top of a mountain - was breathtaking...so was the climb up...but it was worth it. Nice view, romantic walks...paths well illuminated... It was very good.
Hostel is sited on Monschberg hill and has wonderful views into Salzburg town as well as the churches and fortress. Rooms are basic. Helpful, hardworking staff.
Super nice view to the castle from the downstair restaraunt. Best value of money and the facility is really tidy and clean. Bed is comfortable and clean.
It is not difficult to find this hotel. You can take bus 100 to lift. Driver will tell u which stop to get offf. Very good view!.
This was an awesome hostel with views to kill. Breakfast was great also. Very pleased.
The view is amazing! Nice breakfast, very silent and close to the
city center.
beautiful view, great location, very casual relaxed. beautiful location and views, good breakfast included, very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was simple, but nice. Hams, chess, breads, etc were tasty.
The view from the rooms and the restaurant down stairs were so pretty. In the night, the guests can see whole city + castle right up at the same time.
Beautiful hilltop location. Excellent view. Appeared very inviting and friendly in ad.
The view was unbeatable and the beds were very comfortable.
the amazing view.
Great heating, you can adjust the temperature according to your need. Great breakfast, although it only serves from 9 to 10, sometimes begins at 8:30. Great view.
It was a beautiful location overlooking Salzburg and it was clean.
Phenomenal Views ... and Cheap.
Gotta give it a 9.
good view from the hostel.
good view.
If you don`t fancy a 10-min. Climb along the scenic trail, you can use
an elevator (about 2 euros). However, they could have made it free for
the hostel guests.. The rooms may seem a little bit narrow, but it`s ok
for a hostel.
Not a dislike at all - just a note for other travelers - the hostel's location in the forest made it a bit scarey for a lone female traveller to walk back from town after dark - I took taxis - about 10 euros for a trip from nearby at the bottom of the hill.
The facilities weren't the best since it's such an old place, but their pretty acceptable!.
Carrying too much luggage -my fault!
I was there two days and never had breakfast. I was not told what time they served breakfast.
One night I was hungry and was refused service because they were fully booked and could not cook one more meal.
The Salzburg card only covers one way up and one way down the hill via the Monschberg lift. However, we managed to take the lift quite a number of times, with discretion from the staff at the lift entrance. Only had to walk down the hill once during our stay - takes about 15 minutes to the nearest bus/tram station. Surrounding forested area on the hill is lovely in the mornings with birdsong.
It costs extra $2.1 euro to use lift to get up to the hill or, a 30 mnts finding the way to go up and down. If you hang out at night you have to take a cab back. It's too dark to walk at night alone.
Nothing.
No wifi!!! Difficult to find, better if u ask someone on the street. The
best way is to go up some stairs behind the mountain instead of taking a
lift that costs 2,10€.
the ancient door key was a pain! no wifi, and closes early so you must have dinner in the city.getting up and down the mountain to town, no common room or fridge to use.
Location. To get to the hotel wasn't so easy with big suitcase. People need to take a lift to the museum nearby, or a cab (I had to ask 4 taxi driver, 3 of them didn't want to drive up there.) To get to the city, people can use the lift, or stairs.
No wifi.
No internet! To tea water.
No public space! Only restaurant which closed very early for us, and was always seeming to have an exclusive private party. Felt out of place.
Not very accommodating: didn't tell us how to work heater so was cold, breakfast only at 9 for one hour and we had to leave by 8 or 8:30. Woman did try but didn't get there till 8 and we couldn't enjoy breakfast as had to gulp. Not at all well 'hosted'. Felt rather an intruder than a guest.
The staff was very unfriendly, and the hostel was overbooked. My letsbookhotel.com reservation wasn't even listed on their registry even though I had booked 5 months in advance. The restaurant closes VERY early and is hard to get a table because the dining area is so small.
disorganization in the assignation of beds.
Locker problem, mentioned a lot by others. Bad location. Actually the elevator from museum can only lead you to some place on the hill, not right at the hostel. You also have to walk 300 to 400m. Especially the sand road, extremely hard to drag the luggage. One-way elevator costs 2.1euro and round trip 3.4euro, valid on the same day.
Despite booking one month in advance, the hostel was overbooked and I
had to sleep in the dining room and be out before 9 the next morning so
the hostel could serve breakfast. I asked for a discount and was I
initially told €10 for both nights. The next night, when I went to
change rooms, the manager charged me €30 and said "This is not the
woods". They also only give you one small coffee with breakfast. I
was not happy with the service at all.
Not really a Hostel ... no internet ... no towels ... no soap -- no comon area ...
Terrible location: it is in the top of the mountain and the guest to walk the a lot of stairs to the hostel. Limited checkin time.
Do not choose this! The hostel is in the mountain...even you take the bus, you still have to walk up the hill for 15 minutes . It is more like a restaurant than a hostel as the owner focused on running restaurant but care less about accommodation. There is no staff at night and the only one can speak little English. The price includes the breakfast, only available between 9-10 am.
