It was fabulous to discover it was only a two minute walk around the corner to the Regent's Theatre. Perfect when we went to Melbourne to see King Kong. So, so very close to so many cafes for breakfast, lunch and coffee. A very central location to hop on a tram to go anywhere and only one or two stops to the CBD shops and mall! Yes! Constant buzzing noise throughout the night. Perhaps the noise was due to air con units outside from other buildings, but we could not see any. The two bathrooms had vents but no exhaust fans. Hence, the bathrooms fogged up during a shower. Reception not manned at all times. No one there when we arrive at 2.00pm in the arvo. Had to call up someone. The receptionist wasn't particularly helpful or friendly. Also the fact that I had made the booking in my name for 4 people. The others arrived before me but couldn't check in until I arrived. Bathroom needs updating, shower is small & water pressure not great. Wifi not free and no foxtel. Only stayed 1 night before flying out. Older building with some wear and tear. non smoking. no air con, just old heaters. De'cor dated and shabby. Aircon a bit skewiff. leaky showerhead. Building noise outside in the morning. Broken tap handle in the shower kept on falling off, very noisy air con unit dumped in the lounge, connected to a bucket that had to be emptied every so often. Room 10 has perfect view of the building site next door which starts jackhammering at 7am. Very noisy if you wanted to take a slowere start to the day. It was a little noisy of a night, double glazed windows would possibly be enough to fix this. No bench space in bathroom. Black mould build up in shower, along door trim. Bathroom didn't seem clean. Not value for money as the Liverpool match put prices up!!!. Shower pressure, toilet roll was cut all the way through( was this a cost saving measure?). Superb space (penthouse) marred by obvious efforts to save money. Cost (function of the time - Grand Prix). No air-conditioning in the bedrooms - at $500.00 a night, that would be expected. Hard edges on mattresses. Street noise in front bedroom. The beds pillows lack of good sun blockage for the morning do not put beds with wheels on floor boards.. every time we turned over the bed would move and our pillows would fall at the back of the bed between the wall and the bed. Very uncomfortable night. noise in GF room. vibrations all night. as per my email ordinary in quality and presentation. the floor was dirty, the bathroom had a curry smell about it, and it was too noisy with outside machinery etc.no paid TV, only usual channels. It was too noisy! Didn't get any sleep for the 4 nights we were there!!! We got charged for a glass lamp shade that fell off the side table in the middle of the night on my 7yr old. Smashed on his head, cut his arm and had glass all through his bed!.
