Guests enjoy free continental breakfast and enjoy easy walking access to Hobart's attractions. The property is a grand Edwardian/Federation house built in 1908 and is full of retro furnishings. It has spacious rooms, some with ensuite bathrooms and some with shared bathroom facilities. Throughout the building there are high ceilings, sweeping staircases and old world charm. Each room is individually decorated in a distinctive hip-heritage style and all rooms have a television, bar fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast room has an adjoining cafe and is available throughout the day and night and is well stocked with a range of cereals and breads (including gluten free), as well as fresh jams, honey and peanut butter from the local farmer's market. The guest lounge has television with DVD player and a wide range of DVDs on hand. Free WiFi and free parking are available. Paintings and artifacts are on display throughout the house. Nearby attractions include Salamanca Place and Market, Constitution Dock and Battery Point, the waterfront art and craft galleries and restaurants and the Museum and Art Gallery. You can enjoy day trips to Port Arthur, Historic Richmond and Bruny Island.

Edinburgh Gallery Bed & Breakfast is a typical bed and breakfast. It has all basic needs: bed, desk, chair, bathroom and breakfast. Breakfast was ordinary, so dad and I went outside for breaky. Apart from that, we both enjoyed it very much. Service was excellent, Frank was really nice. We lived in room 2 and it was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay at the Edinburgh B&B and would recommend it to everybody. The staff was incredibly friendly and we where surprised by the very large rooms that offered all the comforts you need. Incredible value for money as it is very close to all the sights.

Although I didn't use the breakfast facilities, I like the idea of D.I.Y breakfast; the kitchen/breakfast room also looked attractive. liked the communal kitchen/breakfast room. REAL coffe available all hours, good atmosphere, free internet/wifi. staff offered to print our boarding pass, very helpful!. It was very quiet. Being in a room right next to traffic signals ... every 40 seconds, there was 5 seconds of 'walk/don't walk' beeping ... I didn't get much sleep. The traffic noise I could handle, but the beeping every 40 seconds drove me nuts! Avoid Room #4 (Queen) if you want to get some sleep. Couldn't get SBS or ABC T.V. The television didn't really work. Breakfast selection wasn't as explained. Breakfast was very basic, with plain sliced bread. However, the coffee was good. A bit shabby in places, some furniture is very old. Also, being on a corner, the 'Walk' audible signal at traffic lights is very noisy if you have a room close to it. This building lacks maintenace. There were some stains on my sheet. It's expensive for what you are getting. $129 AU per night with minimal breakfast. Did better my last night in Hobart @ the Travelodge @ $109 AU. The noise made by the stairs. Charged $48 dollars more than advertised price. One bed not made up with electric blanket. Room was dusty. Carpets needed shampoo or update. One bed had no nightlight. Other bed had plugs for 2 items so electric blanket could not be used with lamp and tv. Breakfast was a bit dull. Dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and so was the sink. Newspaper was 2 weeks old. No smiles at any time from gentleman on the desk. The location of room faced the road and was near an.intersection so traffic noise was an issue. The bathroom had mould on the walls and there was some mould around the tiles of the bath. The major issue for us was what we saw in promotional material was different in reality...the property is old and in need of renovation... Twin bedroom in the basement had the look and feel of a utility room. Couldn't open the windows. The room was run down and dirty, with cobwebby walls and ceilings. Operating the door knob required lots of patience and strength. Though it's the cheapest room, stay away from this deal. We were located in a basement room and had to go up two stories to the toilet. It was very poorly lit and the electrics were in a poor state. Breakfast facilities very basic, poor quality food and all self service No staff on site in evening and overnight Felt like a hostel not a B&B at all Poorly maintained- was probably good standard some years ago but lack of care and attention really shows. Cost of accommodation of $ 556 for 4 nights which I'd understood to be $ 456. Would like this to be checked for me with an E-mail reply please. Breakfast very basic with no cooked food available. Only one tv ch available abc News & poor reception.
