I felt very comfortable and the staff excellent. I would recommend the hotel and my next visit I would stay again.
We did a week night so received a good rate...would not have been as happy if we had paid the regular price - room was very nice
hammering started at 6:30am - I was told it was an elevator repair :( our room only had tea and Decaf Coffee :(
Proximity to cable cars and Union Square Beautiful entry and lobby.
It is located on top of Knob Hill which makes walking difficult with all the steep hills. It is not clear whether the coffee is complimentary or not. Staff at Top of the Mark could have been more friendly
We had a great view and the bathroom was huge
It seemed more expensive than som other 5 star hotels we have stayed at like the Trump
They upgraded our room and gave us complimentary fruit and chocolate when they found out it was our anniversary
The view was amazing, the room was quiet, perfect bedding and robes in the room! A first class hotel!
Everything except for the noise
Noisy outside. Could not sleep
Staff Comfortable beds
Looking a little worn
Got upgraded to beautiful suite
nothing
close to everything
noisy air system in our room on 4th floor
location
Amazing stay in the penthouse suite! Also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Top of the Mark our last morning there.
We picked the hotel for its location.
The water pressure was less than satisfactory. Also, we had a late night and could not sleep in due to the fact there were not blinds or blackout shades. I would rather pay for internet access up front than have to sign in and pay every day...annoying. Asked for a high floor but should have asked for a room on the west to avoid the morning sun waking us up.
Very classy, best views in the city. Excellent bar at the Top of the Mark. Try the martinis.
Why do hotels still charge for internet? Up on top of Nob Hill. Be prepared to walk up hill a lot. t
Was centrally located.
Price!
Bed was very comfortable. Great to have IPhone docking station for charging. Door staff were great and very friendly.
Charging for WiFi - in this day and age? I did complain and wasn't charged though. Bathroom was a little small and not particularly luxurious.
No coffee shop, no place to get early coffee or breakfast! The coffee in the room was awful!
Professional and friendly personnel, cleanliness, fitness center, location, service, view from the restaurant
Old design, poor noise insulation (could clearly follow my neighbor conversation from my room)
Helpful staff especially check in. Room had a great view. Their restaurant "Top of the Mark" on 19th floor is world class with share meals and live music. Cable car directly outside. We were given a late check out - 2 p.m.
Beautiful room, perfect beds, very quiet. Great design and atmosphere.
Internet not included in the price for this kind of hotels is poor.
Location Great for Shopping Good Fitness Centre Big rooms with good views of the city
Expensive Parking, although an alternative was available
I like it overall.
charming old world feeling with everyday modern conveniences,,close to all of san francisco
having to leave
Old, iconic hotel experience, vestiges of past grandeur, before the era or "cookie-cutter, modern, formulaic hotel chains, as at present. Also, the staff were very experienced at their jobs, and uniformly very helpful.
Expensive "add ons" to the basic, room rate, such as $52.50 for one night's parking, $6.50 for a bottle of water in your room, etc. If you're not careful you will quickly add > $100.00 to your bill !
Great building. Great location. The Top of the Mark is THE place to go for expensive drinks & a great view.
The room was tiny, & the view from our almost 400 bucks a night room was just ok. The bathroom was super tiny, & a bit run down. I did not feel like there was any value, outside of the location, for the price.
Location and luxurious room
Paying for internet usage
Traditional hotel charm and comfort.
There was a time when a classical, luxury bar, such as the Top of the Mark, would not allow patrons to enter in flip flops, sweat pants, torn jeans etc. Unfortunately, that attire has become the rule and not the rare exception. My wife and I felt out-of-place where the staff, decor, and entertainment met or exceeded our expectations.
We loved almost everything - we had a gorgeous view from the room, the room was very nice and not cheap looking like a marriot or embassy suites type room - employees were polite and helpful and not fake - top of the mark employees all very nice and polite - overall a wonderful stay - seriously, very very nice.
The pedestrian entrance to the hotel was locked at 4:30 pm so guests had to re-enter the hotel through the car entrance and car exit - dangerous - just a matter of time before someone is hit - I predict a lawsuit. They could put a card reader or min wage employee there and keep it safe for hotel guests!
Beautiful views over San Francisci
Poor value for money as a tourist. Extra costs for wi fi and breakfast not included in the price, or tea/coffee making facilitied in the room - standard even in the most basic motels we stayed in. Make sure that you get a cab up to the hotel from union square
Absolutely everything : the grand and tasteful design, the panoramic views of San Francisco, the competent and friendly staff and the faultless facilities. For the price, it was well beyond my expectations.
Didn't realise there were two "Intercontinental" Hotels in San Francisco and believed I had booked with the rest of my family who stayed in Howard Street which is also very nice hotel, but not as luxurious as the one in Nob Hill. Nevertheless, I certainly didn't loose out.
Staff were excellent. Room was large and comfortable. View was great.
Nothing
Love the suites...comfortable beds and the view of the city and the bay.also love the whirlpool amd double shower
I had an issue with my bill and I was able to resolve it quickly with a call to billing.
Our room was very small and I actually bruised myself on the corner of furniture. There is little or nothing included at no extra cost -- not internet, not a newspaper, not breakfast.
The staff went above & beyond to make our stay the best ever. The view from the Top of the Mark restaurant was spectacular and the food was excellent.
The traffic getting to the location - bad timing on our part - pride parade day.
The hotel is first-rate The bed was comfortable. The location is very posh. The views of the city are grand
No dinner restaurant on site. Parking fee is exorbitant. Continental breakfast @$18.50 per..?..C'mon !
Value for money, service, comfortable beds.
Shower had low water pressure.
Every thing was ok
Internet charge
The service was amazing. From the valet to the front desk concierge to the wait staff. Everyone was so friendly and professional
Very pricey
the location is good, it's quite easy to take interesting cable car to kinds of sight spots.
bathrooms had build up in corners, not enough towels
The hotel is very nice, and at the top of Nob hill. Had an excellent view. The staff is top notch.
I had a room on the California street side. It made for an excellent view, but the noise from the cable car was a bit annoying. Next time I stay there I will request a room on the Mason street side.
the interior
the price
The location was excellent. We also visited the Top of the Mark after dinner. Our server was amazing! The views of the city were perfect.
The check-in clerk was not "in a good mood" and argued with us about our reservation. Had to pull out my confirmation to prove it was a king view room.
Great location - but be prepared for an uphill walk (but that's SF) Nice large room with quality toiletries. Very comfortable bed.
Minibar prices ($6.50 for a bottle of water in the room) No free internet in room - most good hotels now include this in the price of the room. Here is $11.95 per 24 hours.
The location.
The price could be a little lower.
Price from letsbookhotel.com varied from the actual price confirmed and paid at the hotel
The hotel is a classy hotel, and very smart and luxury. Super comfortable beds and facilities. The view from our room was excellent. The location of the hotel is very good, with great views, the food from room service was excellent..
This was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed in. And I was appalled to be charged about 12 dollars for 24h of wifi..something I thought was a standard feature of all hotels. This really irritated me. The mini bar is really overpriced, as all mini bars are, $6.50 for a bottle of water!. No breakfast included in our letsbookhotel.com order.
fabulous views from upper levels, and great thats its on the cable car track, but you can hear the cable cars even high up in your bedroom.
hotel is getting on in decor..could use a modernizing spruce up...still comfortable and clean in old fashioned way..
Excellent location. Beautiful view of the city.
Low water pressure.
The history and design of the building. Gorgeous. The bedroom was lovely and the bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. Amenities in the bathroom were very nice quality as well Carpet needs cleaning or needs to be replaced. I loved the jazz band in the restaurant and the bartenders were very gracious and the service was terrific.
