  This was our first trip to Edinburgh. We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice. As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

  We arrived early,really only wanted to drop cases off but was warmly greeted and allowed up to to our rooms. We had a knock a few mins later to check everything was in order. The whole establishment was spotless and all staff very friendly, would certainly stop again and recommend to others.   We had a fabulous one night stay at The Chester Residence. Staff were very helpful and the suite was fantastic. All rooms were very spacious (we had the 1st floor suite) and the location was only about 5 minutes walk from Haymarket and Princes Street. We strongly recommend visitors staying this beautiful and good -serviced BB.
